Owner description: Honeywood Museum is a Grade II listed building next to the picturesque Carshalton Ponds in the heart of Carshalton's Conservation Area. The family-friendly museum re-opened in May 2012 after a complete refurbishment following an HLF grant. It has beautifully restored period details including the Edwardian Billiards Room, Drawing Room and Bathroom. There are exhibitions which tell the fascinating history of the house and the people who lived there, and an on-going diary of events which illuminate the history of Carshalton, the Borough of Sutton, and a fascinating range of topics beyond. Look out for the delightful collection of Edwardian toys on display in the Childhood Room and visit the lovely tea room and the Museum's shop with its wide range of publications and unusual gifts. Entry is FREE.

Looks so inviting and is....but the scones were served ice cold like they'd just come out the fridge.

It's so great that places like Honeywood stay open and continue to have local community support. There's such a fantastic collection of local history here, it's free entry and has a cute little tea shop on the side. Plus it's a nice walk across the park to get there, and opposite the ponds. Lovely.

Situated by Carshalton Ponds, this is a delightful little museum which has a relaxed atmosphere and not only displays historic pieces but also has exhibitions from the local community and schools. The cafe has delightful staff and wonderful coffee, tea and cakes. It's lovely to be able to sit outside watching the water birds whilst enjoying a cream tea! We have been several times and will definitely visit again.

Form the warm welcome by the front of house staff who then let you wander around this fabulous museum at your own leisure. Great location by the Ponds, no wonder it has been painted and photographed over the years.

The cafe next door has excellent coffee and homemade cakes, a must visit

A beautiful old house set in the heart of Carshalton. Lots to see and do with a charming café situated next door. A must for young and old.
