“Lovely, shame I've only just found it”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

Visited with two teenage children, greeted with politeness, and although my son found it unnerving walking through so many buzzing bees none of us was stung. My daughter took some beautiful photos, we came home with a bag of lavender that has been turned into scented bags and used in cup cakes. Lovely afternoon tea was enjoyed in the tea shop too. Being surrounded by all that lavender, it was easy to feel so relaxed

“Beautiful, but 'bee' careful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

A beautiful view & lovely walk to the top. Arrived upon opening time, very quiet then, allowing the backdrop of our photos to be just a sea of purple.

Encouragement is needed with little ones as their are thousands of bees, some are huge! In the middle of the field you can hear just an eery buzzing. But we sang our way up the hill, happily filling our bag with lavender & had a rest & 'treat' on the log seats at the top.

On the walk back down I stopped for a last photo with my daughter. Although crouching down ended in disaster, as a bee stung me through my jeans OUCH! Although happy it was me and not my 3yr, after a sore 24hr I'm smiling again and would return, even if just for yummy cake :-D

“Truly wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

At this time of the year, the view is wonderful. A huge sloping field, the colour blue/purple as far as the eye can see. This is marvellous value. Cost £4 and children under 14 are free, this allows you to pick your own bag of lavender. It is run by friendly staff who give you great if slowish service, but you don't go to a lavender farm to rush. Just enjoy the scenery and have a nice cup of tea and cake and finally buy your own lavender to plant at home. Blissful.

“So relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

We had such a lovely afternoon at Hitchin Lavender,so relaxing. The cafe is in a converted barn together with a shop where you can buy all sorts of lavender related products. The cafe was very busy and they did seem to have only one person serving so there was a bit of a wait but the food was very nice. Would recommend on a sunny summers day.
