this is a great place to be based if you fancy a trip around mid wales. Good bar with very friendly staff and local characters. The restaurant was superb and they will make you up a packed lunch for the next day if you ask, all at the right price and served with a smile.

I would definately not hesitate to recommend this place.

Well done Ty Morgans

Room Tip: Room number 1 was brilliant, main room had a large double bed and two singles in a separate bedroom.

Another one of my late in the day finds via Laterooms. I initially thought parking would be an issue, but parked out the front and had no problems.
Staffed by friendly and helpful staff. My room was a delight with olde world charm including ''wonky' floor boards which just gave the lovely room more character. A superb menu in the evening, although not cheap but the quality was fantastic which is the justification for the prices.
Breakfast again offered a good selection all served in a friendly way, just what you want for the start of the day!!!

Stayed with my wife and a friend for one night in the apartment across the road from the main building. Very close and very convenient, dont be put off by the separation..it's no problem. Check in was in the main building and was quick and efficient. The apartment is like a tardis..small on the outside but huge within. A double bedroom, a twin bedroom (same sizes) a perfectly functional kitchen with fridge freezer, cooker and microwave. All the usual accessories of tea coffee, milk, sugar and of course, a kettle. They even provided washing up liquid. There was a toilet and hand basin next to the twin bedroom and a full bathroom next to the kitchen. The lounge was large and comfortable with a good quality TV recieving free to air Digital channels.
We ate in the Bistro during the evening and all had decent steak cooked very well. Frozen chips and a salad were adequate accompaniments and the meals and drinks were good value, served by very pleasant staff.
The apartment was very warm (too warm for me but the ladies enjoyed the "cosy" feel) and clean. We had a decent night's sleep in comfortable beds and crossed the road for breakfast in the main building 30 seconds away.
Breakfast was excellent value with all you can eat fruit, juices, yoghurts, cereals etc and a full cooked breakfast with a choice of white or wholemeal toast.
Checkout was easy despite a connection problem on the card reader but this was quickly dealt with and we were on our way within 5 minutes.
Overall I recommend Ty Morgan if you are looking for a good mid wales base for a one night or full week break.

I would have given the review of good but there's no option for that.

When we were first shown to our room I was really disappointed but then I remembered we'd only paid £60. It was a very basic room and it was clean but it was the bathroom (tiny and the shower was crammed into a corner with makeshift curtain) that really let it down and really wouldn't be any good if you're tall.

We did eat in the bistro which was fairly nice, and the staff were friendly.

Ok for a one night stay but I wouldn't want to stay any longer.

We did not stay here but enjoyed an excellent meal - starters (pate and prawn cocktail) were plentiful and very tasty. The main meal of fish and chips was delicious with a large portion of fish with the best batter (thin and crispy) I've ever tasted. Total for two starters and mains with a botttle of wine was less than £45 - really good value for money. Only improvement would have been home-made chips for an excellent marking,

booked the same day as we stayed. What a beautiful building with exposed stone/slate. Had the suite, so reasonable and such a large 'apartment' really.. friendly staff. Well worth a stay I will certainly rebook there again . Very quaint

My wife and I had a one night stopover and chose this as a good place for exploring the surrounding area. From that point of view it was excellent. Also the food in the Bistro at night and the breakfast was really good, quick service, good portions and great value.
Our only disappointment was the room which was very small. the facilities were good with tissues to teas making but room only just big enough for a bed, one chair and wardrobe. The room was in a block of three across the road at the Crown which meant a bit of a trek if you used their car park. Our room was in the middle and you could hear the neighbours!
It did what it said on the tin and no more!
