Stayed with my wife for 4 nights in what was described as a "silver" standard caravan followed by one night in the on-site "hotel". The caravan was adequately equipped for our needs, clean and comfortable. The park grounds are well maintained and there is a leisure club with pool and gym, along with facilities for children. The local schools had not broken up for the summer so the park was generally quiet. There were a number of owner occupied chalets and caravans, many with well tended garden areas.
The restaurant and bar areas are fairly compact and the food menu was "Beefeater" style, all reasonably priced.

The "hotel" is a travel lodge style building adjacent to Reception. We stayed on the first floor, which has recently been refurbished. Our room was excellent, better than many 4* city hotel rooms we have stayed in. The only negative was the shower which was no better than a light drizzle! The receptionist admitted that there is a problem with water pressure.

The local coastline walks are fantastic with great views across the channel. St Margaret's Bay is pleasant and the nearby towns of Deal, Sandwich and Broadstairs are well worth a visit. Avoid Dover (apart from the castle) and Ramsgate!

The insects referred to by another reviewer are earwigs! We too had a number in the caravan to keep us company.

our needs, comfortable and clean. The grounds are well mainatained and there is a leisure

We've stayed here in the past and been reasonably happy with the accommodation but we stayed for 2 weeks at the start of July in a bronze 2 bedroom chalet which was constantly overrrun by little black crawly things like a cross between a centipede and a beetle that could crawl up walls etc... particularly in one of the bedrooms, so much so that we had to check the bed and curtains before settling for the night, Finallly we looked at the outside of the chalet and at the corner of said bedroom window it was swarming with them, the window frames were rotten so I guess the damp was attracting them.
Thankfully we spent most of the time out of the chalet (2 days in London, 3 days in Disneyland Paris) but the resort's attitude was to dismiss it, guess they were fully booked due to the golf Open as we could only get a bronze despite booking away back at the beginning of 2011 but I had assumed even the bronze would have been of better standard than this. But if you ARE booked to stay here and looking for somewhere to eat you can't do better than The Hope Inn up in the village, lovely meals and excellent service, better than the restaurant in the hotel

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and although it was some time ago we apologise that on this occasion we didn’t live up to our usual high standards. We pride ourselves on being able to rectify issues whilst a guest is still on park and reading this not only have we let you down we have let ourselves down. Having said this we have invested in new windows for the bungalows. You were correct when you said about being fully booked at this time, however this is no excuse, I do hope that in the future you would come back to St Margaret’s Bay for us to demonstrate our usual high standards.

I was surprised to see the recent review of St Margarets Bay Holiday Park in Kent (St Margarets at Cliff). I stayed there last September for 4 nights with my 3 year old daughter & my Partner.

The caravan we stayed in was large, well equipt, and very clean.

Although the park is quite far from seaside villages such as Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Sandwich etc (around 40 mins) I found the facilities at St Margarets at cliff are of a much higer standard to some holiday parks. They have a lovely indoor pool with decent changing rooms, they have an excellent restuarant within their club house which includes a large choice of food that was of a very good standard. The staff were extremley accommodating - even though it was out of season and very quiet they offered to put music on for the children in the club house hall each day/night. They called the day before we were due to arrive to make sure we had directions & knew what was on offer at there park and the staff were very helpful & friendly.

These small things make a holiday more enjoyable as it shows customers that the staff care.

Ok, the childrens play area could've consisted of a bit more but when you take your child on holiday its nice to actually take them out each day rather than depend on a play area! St Margarets at Cliff is a lovely area, and has a nice beach and lots to see near by.

This holiday park should be awarded 5* as it is very clean, the ameneties are acceptable and the staff are very welcoming & friendly.

Hello Shaffiah and thank you so much for your review. This is what we aim for and I’m delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay with us. We are here to provide enjoyable holidays and in this case I think we have done exactly that. Although our play area is very small it is something that we are looking into improving for the future, and in case you return, they have just built an amazing play area in the village of St Margaret’s which is a 5 minute walk away. Thank you again for your review and we really hope to see you all again soon.

Was less than impressed with the standard of the silver bungalow that we were shown to. Why ? Furniture old and shabby, a hole in the settee, and exterior brickwork needed a good brushup.
So we opted instead for a silver caravan - this was much better, modern furnishings and more comfortable all round.
Liked the park grounds - seemed well kept. Friendly store at gate for small purchases. I would have liked to have used the resort swimming pool, but it was only open at odd times e.g. in the middle of the day or the evening for adults, so I missed out.

Room Tip: Some bungalows more modern than others.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. I’m sorry to hear that you felt that the bungalow was not up to standard you should expect, on this occasion, however you will be happy to hear that a refurbishment programme is in place at this time to improve the décor within. I’m a little confused by your comments regarding our swimming pool, as stated in our leisure programme, our pools are open to all from 9am up to 8pm at peak times. Everyone is permitted to swim during these times and although we have adult only swim times this doesn’t mean that that is the only time adults can swim it just gives the adults an opportunity to be in the main pool without children. Children are still allowed in at this time but in the smaller pool only. This is the same when we offer the activities in the pool, for example; hydro domes. The activities will only take a small part of the pool up and therefore we can still offer normal swimming for all others who do not want to participate in the activities. Having said this I do apologise that you were not informed of this at the time of check-in. I am glad that the silver caravan met your requirements and we hope to see you again in the future.

Dirty Caravan, horrible stinky food, no proper play ground for kids and slowest ever WiFI connection. Feels like you have gone back to early 90's dial up. In fact i gave up checking my emails at the end. Manager Jody [--] HSM didnt even try to help. Do not be fooled by the brochure glossy photos, its nothing like that
On our second day, we started to look for guest houses outside the holiday camp, but they were fully booked. I also had a chat with a couple who own a caravan in the camp and they couldn’t even sell their caravan and get out of there! They have made complaints to the management – Jody [--] HSM - about the noisy holiday makers, broken glasses, high maintenance charges, but no improvements were made to their situation.

Now some good points:
-Its cheap
-Beautiful landscape just 10 minutes away, the cliffs and coast, Dover castle.

I recommend staying in St Margaret's Bay Holiday Park only if you get out of the park early morning and come back late night. DO NOT EAT YOUR MEAL THERE.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay with us. I am saddened to read the name of a member of staff, as you felt that Jody did not assist with your internet connection problems sufficiently. Our wifi connection has improved since your stay in 2011, and at the time of your stay we recommended, should any guest require a faster speed, an internet café which is a short drive from the park. I can only apologise for any inconvenience your connection problems caused during your holiday and can assure you that our connection has now improved. Jody is an experienced member of staff and I’d like to reassure you that St. Margaret’s Bay is largely privately owned and our Owners Elite community is very friendly and we share great times with them. We pride ourselves on the maintenance of our Park and receive some excellent feedback regarding our grounds. As stated in our Brochure and on our website we are a leisurely park and therefore St. Margaret’s Bay is the perfect place for a relaxed break away. I apologise that your holiday did not meet your expectations on this occasion and I hope you enjoy your future holidays.

we chose the silver bungalow accomadation.
Seemed more like a Bronze accomadation
Fully working kitchen, not?
Oven hood didnt work, and the mainatance people new about it, they admitted that the resort would not spend the money to replace it.
Dining room table kept becoming loose so we couldnt eat off it.
Got an electric shock form a broken plug on a panale heater with in the first half an hour or arriving.
Shower was apauling
Not enough parking close by.
One night it took 3 hours to cook our tea as the electric kept tripping and we had a 5 yr old in the bath screaming because of the dark, in the end they through a meal tgether in the restaurant and split the family up by putting us in two seperate rooms for the night in the so called hotel.
And as for the spiders, well??
seriously had to remove them from the beds, found them on the shower curtain and towels. crawling up to my 11 yr sleeping daught? and waking up in the night to see them close by on the wall.
Good swimming pool and grounds though.

Room Tip: dont go in a bungalow

Spent an enjoyable "Sun holiday" weekend at this site, which is in a good location to explore some of Kent's coast and countryside. Accomodation (we had a "bungalow") clean and comfortable. Good size indoor swimming pool (plus jacuzzi). On site restaurant serves good food, although a little pricey.

Pleasant (20 minute) walk down to beach at St Margaret's which is unspoilt. Deal 5 miles away, Sandwich, Broadstairs etc within easy reach.
