“Good value for money, enjoyed our stay”

Friendly reception, room was enormous with kitchenette, beds very comfy. It is a long way out from Aberystwyth which we were visiting however would definitly book again.
Only niggle is we got lost coming out from the car park. A sign pointing to the exit would have been useful and would have saved us driving up the single track road.
The price was cheaper than the places in town, the room probably bigger and we managed to have a relaxing swim and sauna before going off to our meetings. Very glad we booked this place

I stayed here one night on buisness, due to the lack of accomodation in the Aberystwyth area without terrible reviews.

Firstly, its a lot further out of the town than you think, and not really a hotel, but 3 hotel blocks in the middle of a caravan park.

There is no mobile reception, i had to walk into the village to get any, a village in which all the shops were shut at 8pm on a Wednesday, forcing me to eat at the hotel.

The food was okay, however given that it arrived just 2 minutes after ordering, I suspect a microwave was involved heavily in the preperation.

However, it was quiet, clean, the rooms were large and had a small kitchen, the staff were friendly if you could find them, and i had a perfectly reasonable stay, except for the laundry truck driver, who blocked me (and 4 other cars) in, then stated he couldnt move his truck for 30 minutes because "he was on a break".

The room was really nice; large and the kitchen area was a good idea. However, it wasn't worth the money and the breakfast was poor. The bacon seemed like it had been broiled and the sausage was to be avoided. For a price like that we would have expected proper coffee and not the instant sort. The second day we decided to avoid the full english and ordered the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, but with only a few other couples staying they had "sold out". As there is a large static caravan site next to the social area it was full of caravaners and large groups of children in the evenings and oh joy, on the Sunday night there was a singer/comedian performing - luckily we'd gone to Cross Inn for a meal and stayed for a quiz.

I stayed here for one night due to location for work in the area the next day. The location is out in the middle of knowhere and on what I thought looked like a caravan park!
Reception didn't seem to know what room I was having, even thow only one other person was staying at the time.
I got what's called a suite which had a three quater bed and a single bed, plus a little kitchen. Very nice apart from it was freezing, when I did turn on the thermostat to 35 the radiators got hot but not much heat came out!

Don't book in to room 12 as this is right next door to the generator/drying room and it goes on all night. Tried ringing reception on a number of occasions to see if they could turn it off or move but after 9.30pm at night no one answers. The rooms are not connected to the main building and it's quite dark crossing the car park to get there, so didn't bother walking over there to see.

With being a single woman by myself I didn't feel 100% safe. With no one answering at reception and couldn't get a signal on two of my phones I couldn't wait to leave.

I would only suggest this place if you are going playing golf and there are a few of you and when the weather is warmer.

  • Liked — The little kitchen within the room.
  • Disliked — Very cold and very isolated.

We booked here as the price was good for a family room and we were visiting our son at the university in Aberystwyth. We didnt know really what to expect.

The Reception is very small but the staff were all lovely and very friendly and helpful. Our room was in a block a few minutes way. It was very nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and the little kitchen area was a nice extra.

We used the swimming pool which was plenty big enough. The only pain was that you had to have tokens to use the jacuzzi (these had to be got from the reception). Otherwise no problems.

The bar area could maybe do with a revamp, but once again the staff were lovely, the service quick. We had a bar snack which was excellent. Very tasty and good value for money.

We went quite early for breakfast on the Sunday and I think this is a good move as it did get quite busy. There were plenty of cereals and fruit juice, yogurts and fresh fruit to help yourselves to. We then had a really nice hot freshly cooked breakfast. We all ordered different items which seemed to be no problem at all, the waitress was very friendly and the food arrived quickly.

We then had a bucket on balls each on the driving range. We did however think that £3 a bucket was a bit steep, but it was nice to have this facility.

All in all, excellent value for money, extremely friendly helpful staff and the most beautiful views. We will definitely stay here again.

  • Liked — Very Comfortable large family room and friendly helpfl staff
  • Disliked — Probably the bar area is maybe a bit basic

Although the setting of the hotel, in the middle of a caravan site, was not what we were expecting and the reception area was less than appealing we were pleasantly surprised when we eventually found the room. It was comfortable, spacious and very well equipped including plates, glasses and cutlery, a sizeable fridge and a microwave.

However the reception and bar area were more appropriate for the camp site rather than a hotel. Breakfast was very average.

  • Liked — Spacious well equipped room
  • Disliked — Souless bar and reception area
