“Identity crisis!!”

This place really needs to decide what it wants to be: either it's a golf and country club (in which case it needs to smarten up a bit) or it's a caravan/holiday park (in which case it needs to improve its facilities for families). At the moment it seems to be dabbling in both markets and - if the number of vacancies is anything to go by - not really succeeding in either. We had a suite which was pleasant enough but very cold even in August. Didn't eat in the restaurant, although the food looked like pretty average pub fare. They are guilty of my pet hate CHARGING FOR WIFI and there's no mobile signal here so 3G is out as well. On the plus side, the outside seating area by the bar provided a lovely view of the 18th hole on a sunny evening, and the breakfast was excellent.

Food was excellent. Good menu, well presented and not over-priced.

Staff friendly & helpful.

Lovely views in very peaceful surroundings.

However, the whole place was rather shabby, dated & run down - in definite need of brightening up. Even day to day maintenance could be improved eg tiling and bath surround mouldy and unpleasantly stained.

Outside bar area: Furniture - heavy wooden - not very comfortable and had seen much better days. No Parasols. Cigarette stubs (many) littered all over the patio floor. It's a shame that this area outside the bar - with such lovely views - was treated as no more than a smoking area.

Beware if you need to use your mobile - the hotel is deep in a valley and we had no signal on O2 or Vodaphone. Radio reception also poor. TV poor choice and picture quality.

Stayed here on business trip as couldnt get a booking anywhere else. Rooms a bit 'tired' looking but spotlessly clean and of a great size. Loved the kitchenette area complete with toaster, microwave and fridge and glasses, cups, plates, cutlery all provided. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (even arriving in a flash when I had a problem with the TV), all very polite. No problems with mobile phone connection or wifi connection as others have reported- mine were all fine. Very peaceful area also

We booked a caravan for a week, as unable to find suitable accommodation for the whit week with dog. The park itself was lovely setting and location, however, we experienced disruptive behaviour, children running wild around caravan, car and site, lots of noise over the weekend and intimidating behaviour. Gang congregated outside caravan on Saturday/Sunday evening and running around banging on caravan door, throwing sticks and generally making a nuisance from early evening to after 10.30pm. This also happened once again on the Friday evening. Would not recommend for a quiet, relaxing holiday and this group of youngsters spoilt what would have been an enjoyable getaway. Spoke to the reception on the Monday morning who seemed to be aware of who youngsters were and informed that the site would be quieter later in week, which suggests that this behaviour had occurred before. Therefore, would not recommend this site to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing holiday as advertised in the Hoseasons brochure - have informed Hoseasons too.!

Room Tip: Do not stay if you want peace and quiet.

I write this most of my other submissions as a lone business traveller that has different requirements to other hotel users as other business travellers would appreciate.

The hotel is really a golf club and very remote in the middle of no where but nice and central for cardigan / aberyswyth etc, bear this mind as there is nothing within walking distance.
Big car park plenty of space no worries about leaving your car there.

The room was great, large with a sofa and a small kitchen type area that has a fridge microwave and sink the cupboards had crockery and cutlery. A small table and 2 chairs enables you to sit and eat in relative comfort in your own room, watching a bit of tele.

The bar was busy enough and pleasant to spend a hour or two mostly occupied by golfers talking about the one that got away or something but friendly enough.

There is hot food available, but I found the lure of a tandoori just a short drive into the next town too much of a lure

Wifi connection was strong and cheap at £7.00 for 24hours.

If you were a few guys looking a a great place to stay have a few beers and play golf I would imagine it's a fantastic place.

Would I stay again ...yes but it's not particually cheap. For a one night business stop.

Friendly reception, room was enormous with kitchenette, beds very comfy. It is a long way out from Aberystwyth which we were visiting however would definitly book again.
Only niggle is we got lost coming out from the car park. A sign pointing to the exit would have been useful and would have saved us driving up the single track road.
The price was cheaper than the places in town, the room probably bigger and we managed to have a relaxing swim and sauna before going off to our meetings. Very glad we booked this place

I stayed here one night on buisness, due to the lack of accomodation in the Aberystwyth area without terrible reviews.

Firstly, its a lot further out of the town than you think, and not really a hotel, but 3 hotel blocks in the middle of a caravan park.

There is no mobile reception, i had to walk into the village to get any, a village in which all the shops were shut at 8pm on a Wednesday, forcing me to eat at the hotel.

The food was okay, however given that it arrived just 2 minutes after ordering, I suspect a microwave was involved heavily in the preperation.

However, it was quiet, clean, the rooms were large and had a small kitchen, the staff were friendly if you could find them, and i had a perfectly reasonable stay, except for the laundry truck driver, who blocked me (and 4 other cars) in, then stated he couldnt move his truck for 30 minutes because "he was on a break".
