“What a great place to stay.”
Reviewed May 12, 2012

Stayed at the Bayview Hotel for 2 nights mid March, we had a great time, fantastic, really comfortable seaview room, spotlessly clean too, from the minute we arrived everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast on both mornings was very good, we also had dinner on one of the evenings, fabulous food, so enjoyed it, would highly recommend you try it.

Great walks in the evening after dinner down to the harbour.

Will definitly be back.

Room Tip: Seaview room a must.

Stayed in this hotel with my sister and mother. Room was fine, no complaints, dinner and breakfast, both very nice.
However, when we arrived at our room, there was a noise which we thought was maybe a workman doing some work in another room, but at around 10pm that night after dinner, I used the public toilets by the bar and could still hear the noise.
When we when up to our room again for bed, the noise was still going but we thought it would stop! Finally, at 2.30 am after very little sleep and being very annoyed, I went to investigate. I could hear it outside the room, which was 110, and further down the hall where the other rooms were! It was so loud I didn't know how anyone was sleeping! I went down to reception where the night porter was and asked what the noise was. He informed me that it was air in the pipes and there was nothing that could be done til the morning. I asked if he by chance had any earplugs, no such luck, however he did jokingly suggest using my fingers as earplugs...if I wasn't so tired I would've appreciated the joke!!!
I told him my room number, but the next morning when we checked out, reception never said a thing, no asking how our stay was, if we slept ok...nothing!

We timed the intervals of the noise, it occurred every 22 seconds, surely we weren't the only ones in the hotel to have heard it that night! And if we heard it when we arrived, why didn't they get someone to sort it that day instead of waiting til the next day!

It wouldve been a lovely stay, only for that noise and no sleep!

Dear Guest, I do appoligise about the event which caused you to have a sleepless night at Bayview, this was caused by an air lock in the water pipes which was rectified the very next day. Thankfully all of our other guests were very understanding, forgiving and understanding about the slight noise on one floor,
Regards,
Trevor

From check in to check out, the staff could not have been more helpful!
The room was excellent, spacious & comfortable; recommend paying the extra for a superior room, the view from the window was beautiful.
Dinner in the hotel restaurant was great - I have not had as good a steak in years! The service was good, courteous and flexible.
I don't write many reviews, but felt that this experience merited recognition. Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: worth the extra for a superior room

we stayed in room 205 which has a beautiful view over the bay through patio doors.enjoyed the whirlpool bath. staff very friendly and such a beautiful breakfast. the hotel is spotlessly clean, we had a table for breakfast with great seaview. the evening meal was the best meal we have had in a long time, lovely presented and scrumpious. the owner of the hotel is always on hand and mingles with guests,he is very pleasant and welcoming. we watched the rugby match on sky tv and noticed that Darren and Alison Clark were joining in with everyone in the lounge. a great hotel and we couldnt rate it high enough, cant wait to book it again!!!!!

Room Tip: ask for room with sea view, amazing, and you can hear the sea too

Just had Sunday lunch as a birthday treat for my sister. Food very ordinary and no choice for gluten free diners. Very disappointed.

Dear Olive S, I am very disappointed that you rated our food and restaurant so low. I HAVE INVESTIGED this incident, spoken to all staff involved, checked our cctv security cameras and found that your group on table 21 appeared to be very happy and indeed when offered alternative food were delighted to accept alternative GF dishes. There is a choice of some 35 main course dishes on our Sunday Menu, 50% is GF, our Chefs are always happy to oblige and ensure that if a guest makes a specific request for GF food, they will definitely fulfil that request. I note that our staff even sang Happy Birthday to your sister. I also note that that as you all left your party was very thankful towards our staff for having had an enjoyable time! I really cannot understand why you did not request to speak to me about your complaint, I would most certainly have made sure that our Chefs would have produced any GF food that you requested.
Being an employer of some 50 souls and contributing to the NI economy during these harsh economic times I am disappointed to receive such a negative review which will be viewed on the world wide!
Kind Regards,

My friend and I arrived at our B&B late in the afternoon on a September day and were very hungry. The B&B owner directed us to the Bayview Hotel, which was only a short drive. The food was fantastic and we have a window seat right up front. The view was beautiful, even on the overcast, rainy evening. Truly an enjoyable time. I would recommend this to anyone in the area. I wish I was there right now!!

Just back from a relaxing weekend spent in the Bayview Hotel, my partner and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel!! cant believe its only a 3 star definately should be a 4 star plus :-). Would definately recommend ths hotel to anyone wishing to have a quiet break away from it all... the food was delicious, staff were top rate, rooms were spotless and so comfy and not to mention the massage I had in my room (thanks to Maria the wonderful therapist). This service can be booked through reception. Definately try this, never felt so relaxed in my life :-) Thanks Bayview you will definately see us again soon xx

Room Tip: Would recommend a superior room with seaview, well worth it!!
