My husband is in a small, local photography club, Lesmahagow Photography Society, and tonight was their 30th anniversary Presentation Dinner. It's a small-ish company, 30 of us, and we had a lovely 3 course meal (a pre-set meal), presented by pleasant staff in a really nice private room which was free of charge to hire. The room was beautifully set out, and made for an easy going sociable event. The staff were also very helpful in setting up the room, with a table for the awards, and facilities for a slide show of the winning photographs to be shown as a background setting to our evening. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as we did, and I'd definitely recommend this venue for a similar event (here's hoping we can return for our Christmas dinner!). Thanks to all the staff

Had an overnight with my better half and had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel was in the process of refurbishing their dining room so breakfast and dinner had to be taken in the lounge bar opposite the teception but this was not a problem as the lounge bar was tastefully decorated and had the feel of a dining room. From the moment we checked in at reception we were made to feel really welcome unlike some of the chain hotels we have visited. We paid a little extra for one of the upstairs suites which was absolutely huge with a balcony and an enormous bathroom. Dinner in the evening was really excellent with a great choice of meals . My wife had the trio of black, white and fruit pudding tower for her starter which was amazing and really plentiful. For mains, my wife had chicken and I had fish and chips with both meals perfectly cooked and again substantial portions. We spent an enjoyable and relaxing evening over a few drinks and really chilled out. Full Scottish breakfast in the morning was again excellent and was served at your table as opposed to the normal buffet style which I hate as I usually eat far too much. Check out was very smooth and I must make special mention of Debbie Alexander at reception who was a credit to the hotel with her bubbly personality and absolute professionalism. All in all a very enjoyable stay which did not break the bank and we would definitely return in the future.

I stay at this hotel time and time againover the past few years but since my business has concluded in this area i have not been back for a while.. I called the hotel to enquire availibilty after not visiting for over 5 months to be greeted by the receptionist Anne who recognised my voice, remembered my name and allocated me a room straight away. thats very impressive!!! and gives you confidence in theor customer service. a lot of investment is being put into this hotel upgrading the key areas bars and restuarant. the rooms are great and i usually get allocated one of the lovely suites with a balcony at a very reasonable charge. breakfast is very good tasty and served with a smile. The overall feel of the hotel is great and i would recommend it to anyone viisting Lanarkshire or visiting Glasgow and not wanting to pay the big charges for similar standard hotels. highly recommended.

Room Tip: ask for a suite. price upgrade is usually minimal for a much better room

Stayed here Monday to Friday for almost a year when working in the area. The rooms are really nice. Very modern. Comfy beds. The showers are hot and very powerful. Everything's kept clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breaky awesome. The food is also really good! Never got board of the menu.

Although it's a nice hotel. It's only good for visiting friends/family or on business. Larkhall is a dump. And don't leave any valuables in your car!

Well, I don’t even know where to start with my review for The Shawlands Park Hotel.

I have just had the most amazing weekend for our wedding. My husband and cannot express our thanks enough to all the help from the team for the last 10/11 months. To say I have been a hard bride to deal with is a major understatement and Stephen McKerr has been on hand to respond to all my requests (some crazy and some not so much) promptly and always helped put my mind at rest. Stephen and Tim McClure have done everything they can over the last few months to help ensure my wedding went off with a bang (I’m certain the champagne would have been popped when we left this morning as they no longer need to deal with me). They truly ensured I had the best day ever and were on hand throughout the day to deal with any queries I had (of which there were none as everything was perfect and everything I had asked for). I couldn’t believe how amazing my ceremony and reception looked – it was exactly as I dreamed it. Most of our guests have said it’s one of the best weddings they have been at and that’s testament to such a great team at the hotel.

All of our family and friends have just spent the most amazing weekend at the hotel. The guys arranged a private pre-wedding meal on Friday night for 40 of our guests and it was handled with precision and everyone had an amazing time.

The accommodation is lovely and everything we needed was taken care of on the day. The honeymoon suite was absolutely stunning.

Thank you so much to the waiting staff for delivering our wedding meal to the guests with such military precision. Everything was just absolutely perfect – we cannot thank you all enough for all your hard work in what must be a very hard job – you ensured our wedding was perfect and you always had big smiles on your face.

Massive compliments to the chef for such amazing food – all our guests commented on how absolutely amazing it was. The food on the Friday night was as equally amazing as our wedding meal. The breakfasts are something else as well. It’s the first hotel I have ever stayed at where I have been able to eat the full breakfast. We look forward to dining with you loads in the future.

I would also like to say a massive thank you to Robert and Vivian Klye (owners). They’re the first people I have come across in business that truly care about their customers. I had concerns as all brides do in the lead up to the wedding and was able to meet with Robert on several occasions to discuss some queries etc. It’s rare in business to find two genuinely caring people that aren’t just out to make money. Robert helped put my mind at rest on a few occasions and was always on hand for me to contact him at any time. Not only was he a massive help in the lead up to the wedding but he also sent me a beautiful message this morning (morning after the wedding) to ask how my day was and wish me and my husband well – that’s what I call top class service (considering he was on a weekend away).

Massive massive thank you goes to the waiting / bar staff, reception team, kitchen staff, grounds staff, wedding team, cleaners and everyone at Shawlands that was involved in making our day one to remember (sorry if I have missed anyone out).

If anyone is considering either staying at Shawlands or having a wedding there, consider no more – just go ahead and book up. I can guarantee your day will be everything you dreamed and more. You really won’t be disappointed with the service you receive from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave – its top class!

I would like to wish all of the staff the very best of luck with the future. I hope the new restaurant is a big success and look forward to dining in it in future.

I would also like to wish Robert and Vivian the very best of luck and success with their future endeavours together with the RAD Group – you have truly transformed the hotels you own and the sky is the limit in terms of the success you can go on to achieve. As long as you continue to always have your customers as your main priority there really is no end to the success you can go on to achieve.

Thank you all from the very bottom of our hearts for making our special day truly exceptional, loads of love, Dave, Laura and Riley Kirkham xxxx

Just had an absolutely excellent overnight stay after being at a wedding at the hotel. The hotel is excellent for a wedding venue with the big hall and reception area, bars in both areas are well staffed. During the day the staff were really helpful especially George on the bar . The rooms themselves are really nice and at a very high standard proper 4* hotel. The breakie next day was also really nice. Great hotel well worth looking at for a wedding or even just an overnight break
