We were looking for a nice walk and we stumbled upon a lovely park. There were lots and lots to do there.

A lovely park with lots of interesting things to see whilst you stroll around it’s massive expanse the “tree trail” is excellent with many unusual trees with their names carefully shown, the Solor Garden with its “planets” and astrolabe. To name but two it has an excellent cafe and super children’s play area with a “splash pad” for the summer months a children’s delight.

lovely park for walking your dog, plenty for kids and splash park in summer.

Every sat there is a park run which is 5k .... run jog or walk it... you will never be last as there is always a back marker.

no judgemental and free.

register at park run for free and print off a bar code to get your times.

Always excellently maintained. Parking can be a problem at weekends, as the Leisure Centre patrons take up most of the large carpark. About 230 acres of grass, paths, wooded areas (Fox Covert Nature Reserve) all contained, with access to the Erewash Canal and the historic industrial past of the town - two large former Lace Mills are in situ alongside the park and canal.
Great for dogwalking, lots of kids' activity stuff. The trees in autumn are gloriously coloured. You can have a very pleasant afternoon in the Park any time of the year. Very flat and low-lying, so some of the grass does get waterlogged in the winter and spring rainy seasons, but the paths are almost always walkable.

The park is quite clean and maintained and has good play equipment for the kids.
Various entrances and good walks through, there is an attached sports and leisure centre. There is a splash park that is quite good as well although it was closed on my last visit.

There is plenty of space and is also good for dog walkers.
