“History..Something for all ages”

It's a short drive from the Daytona Beach area, but it's years back in the history of the area. Before the Daytona Speedway they raced on the beach and you pass this on your way to the Lighthouse. Check out the 20 minute Video at the start of your self guided tour. There are a number of houses that were the homes of the original lighthouse employees and their families. You can view exhibits of clothing, tools and other artifacts used by the early residents. There are others attractions in the area including seafood dives or pack a lunch for the shaded park and plan for a full day in this historic area.

“Hidden treasure”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

If you don't know it's there you will never know what you are missing. while not far out of the way it is out of the way enough that not many people find their way down there. There is a real old school hometown feel about the town and everything is just that much better because of it. One of the best places to go spend the day. Great food, great beach, great attractions. Overall one of the best costal towns in Florida.

“Ponce Inlet museum and lighthouse”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

I have been coming here for over 40 years and have taken pictures of the lighthouse, btu this time I went in the museum and climbed the lighthouse and at $5 it is a bargain. I had no idea about the history and the view is totally amazing.

“An Incredible View, History and A Little Exercise!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

This is a wonderful attraction! Not only do you get an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding areas, you get history (and a little exercise!) Only about 10 miles from Daytona Beach it is worth the stop. Easy to find, just follow the signs. Great gift shop with tons of goodies, and about 6 additional buildings to explore including the keeper's house. Each building includes displays, information and videos. Very informative and educational. My husband and I spent a good 2 hours here. Parking is free, entrance fee is minimal - $5.00 a person to explore grounds and lighthouse. Grounds, lighthouse and buildings are very well preserved and maintained. We really enjoy our afternoon at the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse.
