I fully endorse what others have said here. This is a really good place to eat. Our server could not have been more helpful; we had calamari and shrimp starters, two between four of us, one would have been enough! Our mains were chicken wings which were as good and as substantial as others have said, the dam burger, which was perfectly cooked and Thai noodles, also yummy. Very highly recommended.

The island Grill has taken up residency in the Burliegh island Lodge, a hotel/resort that has been closed for the past few years. The grill offers seating for over 100 with a large patio overlooking the water, indoor pub/bar and some casual fine dining. A great menu, wonderful service and very affordable. if you're driving north on the 7 heading to the cottage be sure to drop in for lunch, dinner or just a snack. You won't be disappointed!

Went to the Island Grill on a recommendation from a local resident. What a beautiful village Burleigh Falls is with the Trent-Severn Waterways Lock #28 across the road from the restaurant. Very scenic powerful waters below the locks. Walked thru the main restaurant which appeared very nice but opted to sit on the patio overlooking beautiful Stony Lake. One of the nicest patios in the Kawarthas. Multi-tiered with lots of umbrellas for the hot days of summer.

A waitress (Carling) greeted us promptly and was very knowledgeable about the beers on tap and the food menu. She recommended a pilsner on tap by Hop City called "Mr Huff". This beer was not even on the menu. Great brew and will definitely order again. As far as the food....she advised us it was wing nite (Tuesdays). All wings were .70 each. These were the biggest wings I've ever seen. Sold by the 5'vs. thought we'd have these as appetizers and then order some entrees. As it turned out the wings became the main course due to the size.

All the wait staff appeared very friendly. When ours found we were from Alberta she turned into tour guide. She was quite informative and welcomed us back for another visit. Thanks Carling!

Can't wait to go back and try some main courses from the menu. The ones we saw looked scrumptious.

New owners at the Island Grill (formerly Burleigh Island Lodge) are amazing, the food is scrumptious, the wait staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. Give this restaurant 8.5 out of 10.
