“Elegant B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

We stayed for 1 night in the annex. The place was easy to find, beautiful and welcoming. Bedrooms looked very fresh, spacious and clutter free. The annex has a nice outside space for those who'd wish to enjoy a longer stay. The B&B is well located for visiting Loire valley and chateaux.
There are couple of good local restaurants to choose from and Beatrice helped us with selection and booking.

We stayed with Beatrice for seven wonderful nights in June as part of a two week holiday touring the Loire Valley. We could not have picked a better place. We were delighted with our welcoming hostess, even when she told us that we should try and improve our very limited french while staying with her. We did try much to Beatrice and her french guest's amusement- but in case you dont want to make the effort her english is superb.

Her home and guest rooms are beautiful with excellent facilities complete with a well kept garden to relax in. The b and b is situated in a quiet spot but within easy reach of some great tourist attraction's and Beatrice's help and recommendation's (including discount voucher's) were first class.

The breakfast's are excellent, the majority of the food is homemade including Beatrice's jams which are delicious! If you get the chance try one of her evening meal's- a scrumptious two hour affair with wine!

The place exceeded our expectations and Beatrice's friendliness and good humour made our fantastic holiday complete-everything was just perfect. Our only regret was that we had to come home. We hope to return soon.

Beatrice is a charming hostess, and ensures that every comfort is afforded her guests.
It is very peaceful in the lovely garden and the rooms were quiet and cool.
Beatrice makes her guests very welcome into her home and the whole ambience is relaxed and elegant.
Our room was perfect in every detail with beautiful bed linen and bone china for morning tea.
Breakfast was delicious, with home made conserves and a huge choice of breads and pastries.
I thoroughly recommend this establishment, and we will certainly be visiting again next year.

Room Tip: The downstairs rooms open onto the lovely garden with plenty of outside seating.

We stayed here for two nights before Xmas with our 20 year old daughter and boyfriend and had the two upstairs rooms. The rooms are in a separate annex with its own entry. Clean, comfortable beds with good bathroom. Lovely gardens and a warm welcome. We had the table d'hôte meal on the first night as we had arrived late and it was a lovely four course meal with wine in a beautiful reception room inside the main house. The hostess stayed and chatted for a while but also gave as room to have privacy as well. We were given a recommendation to a restaurant the second night which turned out to be one of the better meals we had on the journey. It was in a tiny village a 15 minute drive away but well worth it. The restaurant was called Agnes Sorel.

We spent Christmas in St George with family and after hunting high and low for accommodation and finding most residences closed for the winter, were relieved to find the B&B open for business. Amazingly, it was a stunning place and is run by a lovely lady who is very obliging.

The residence is small, charming and pleasant. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms which was beautifully decorated and had lovely views out both sides. The residence is in the yard of the main house with a small farm garden around it. The B&B is on a relatively quiet country road with several pleasant walking routes around it and a short drive to Chenonceau.

Breakfast was laid out beautifully in the gorgeous dining room of the main house each morning. In French style, all of the selection was sweet on the first day (but beautiful of course), but as Australians we are used to more salty or bland breakfasts so requested some savoury options on the second day and some lovely cheeses were added to the spread. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and we really appreciated the hostess.

As my partner's family lives nearby, we will definitely be booking ourselves into this B&B again in the future.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms are lovely and well heated in the winter

Everything was easy to arrange even at short notice, and worked as expected. The furnishings and decorations in the bungalows were clean, beautiful, and of good quality. We were able to get a ground floor room for the less mobile member of our party. I highly recommend paying the very low price for dinner, as the local wine, the food, and the company were absolutely wonderful! Everything was fresh, and Beatrice even had fruit/berry syrup to combine with the wine. . . syrup that she made herself from what she had grown. We expected breakfast to be light (croissant, coffee, etc.), but it was more like a feast. All in all a great place to stay very near Chenonceau, and not far from Clos Lucé.

This is a beautiful place to stay, tastefully appointed in very french chic furniture and collectables, but not cluttered. The rooms are light and spacious and are extremely clean. The host Beatrice has thought of everything right down to the linen and towels which are gorgeous. I loved staying here. Beatrice offered to cook us dinner on prearrangement and we felt completely spoilt with a five course homemade and local produce meal. Which was very fairly priced, particularly when you come from Paris where everything is twice as much. Her and her husband sat down and enjoyed the meal with us which was accompanied by local wines. Beatrice has very good english. The absolute treat was her homemade sorbet at the end of the meal. We were traveling with 5 adults (one with limited mobility) and 2 children (5 and 7) and were made to feel very welcome. I could not recommend this place enough. Thank you Beatrice for a lovely stay, I do hope we can return some day.
