We have been travelling to Greece for 30 years. With that experience It is somewhat surprising to see some of the glowing reports for these studios. Yes they are clean, thanks to the exemplary maids. However against much of our previous accomodation, the rooms were small and poorly equipped. Views, on this most scenic of islands, are limited. A major downside was late night chatter from the pool bar which is right in the centre of the studios and which stayed open until around midnight.

Room Tip: Rooms are allocated on arrival - there is no choice.

can only say the room we had was very nice, was very basic and small but when you go to Sanorini you dont really stay in your room. owners where very nice and helpful all the time. didnt spend much time by the pool but it was very nice and quite. the island is so beautiful so i can only suggest you go out and enjoy the stunning views.

After reading the reviews of Eleftheria, I too am amazed at many of the previous comments! Having booked our apartment nearly a year before departure, we expected to receive half decent accommodation. The photos in the brochure showed apartments with balconies overlooking the pool (some even the sea) and previous reviews on Trip Advisor had indicated that there were even apartments with views of the mountains! Instead, on arrival we were taken down a side passage and were shown our apartment! No terrace and no balcony – just a small table and chairs plonked in the passage! No view except for a brick wall and the hotel washing!!! I went and asked if we could be moved to somewhere higher with a more pleasant outlook but the lady just said “we full, we full”. We decided to wait and speak to the rep at the Welcome meeting but she was quite unhelpful and just said that allocation of accommodation was nothing to do with Thomas Cook but was the responsibility of the owners. I don’t know whether that is true or not but, if it is, it seems most unfair that those people booking early don’t get the best rooms. We subsequently discovered that some people who had booked much later than us got a much better apartment with a sea view!!! That doesn’t seem right!

We didn’t expect luxury but our room was basic to say the least. The bathroom was tiny and the shower didn’t work very well. One of the nozzles shot water out at a right angle and if you weren’t very careful positioning the shower curtain, the floor of the bathroom ended up like a swimming pool. Just as well we had no intention of cooking because there was very limited equipment and just a two ringed hot plate plonked on top of a minsicule work surface. It would have been difficult enough to boil an egg, never mind cook a meal!! The fridge made an awful groaning noise which kept us awake. Another occupant suggested it might be because the door didn’t shut properly so we wedged a suitcase up against it every night to try and lessen the noise. That helped a little but it still intermittently made a noise loud enough to wake you up!

There are no chairs / sofa in the apartment. If you want to sit down you have to use the beds! There is a television on the wall but even though we didn’t want to watch T.V. it is sometimes nice to be able to watch the news. However – all channels were Greek. When, out of interest, we asked at the reception whether there were any English channels, we were told “no”.

To be fair, the pool area was nice and kept very clean and the apartment was serviced well every day. It was rather galling though, to come back to our apartment late afternoon to see people sitting on their terraces/balconies having a drink in the sun only to have to go to our dreary apartment round the side!!!

Far from being helpful and accommodating, we thought the owners were a little miserable. Perhaps that was because we had dared to complain!!

Try Eleftheria by all means but don’t expect comfort!!! Also – make absolutely sure before you go that you have a decent room. No. 19 certainly isn’t one we could recommend! Like the previous reviewer stated – there are far better places around!

Room Tip: Second floor with a sea/pool view probably best. Do not have one down the side passage.

I am amazed at some of the reviews given to this property, I booked my holiday 12 months in advance so as to recieve a high floor room. On arrival i was given a studio on ground level about 6 feet from the pool area, i asked for another room on a high floor and was told they wre full, as stated i booked 12 months in advance so surely that was ample time to secure what you require, however people were moved around on departure days so i think the owners have no system as such they just want a quiet life. The room i was given was small , and very basic, had ants in the kitchen area and above all offered no privacy at all. Pool noise in the daytime and bar noise at night. All i can say to the people who return here are very easily satisfied, I would advise if you are given the key to either 13,14,or 15 throw it straight in the pool as you will get no peace and quiet, but better still avoid this accommodation. all together as there is much better accommodation out there.

Room Tip: avoid rooms 13,14 and 15, studios for 2

this is my third visit to the island and was so pleased when i arrived. The room was spotless, facilities were great, event by Greek standards. the Pool area was small but perfect for catching the sun all day. The pool, like the rooms was immaculately clean. My only gripe is the snack bar only does toasties and sandwiches, not a mousakka in sight. But that is the only gripe to this hotel. The cleaner visits every day and the towels were changed twice. Excellent location in the quiter area of Perivilos, although plenty of bars and restuarants within walking distance. All in all a fab hotel on an amazing island.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 16 which had a front pool view, and a sieways sea view.
