“A Perfect meal.”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

We hadn't booked ahead, but were promptly seated with no problem. This was our 2nd choice, but I don't think we could have had a nicer meal. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and wonderfully delicious. Our friends agreed it was a great find. Te fixed price menus were good value for money and the house red wine was very nice indeed. Our friends are staying in the area for another 3 weeks and will most certainly return. Don't miss this lovely restaurant.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

Mark, the proprietor and chef, prepared truly wonderful dinners. We stayed at La Plume d'Oie for 3 nights and he was also incredibly accommodating. The room was a bit small, but it had a small balcony that faced the Dordogne River. We spent almost all of our daytime out of doors and the size of the room was not an issue. Highly recommended, especially for the quality of the food.

“Great value and excellent food.”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

A very warm welcome was extended and some serious food was on offer. It was a nice break from the norm in Dordogne not to have just the choice of duck, duck and duck, and we took advantage of it with some absolutely superb lamb, and some veal sweetbreads in a morel sauce which were fantastic. As it was shoulder season and we arrived late (9pm) the room was a bit quiet and lacking atmosphere but I am sure that it is normally livelier and we'd have no qualms in returning. By the way, try the Trappist walnut cheese - amazing.

“Delightful meal”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

We stayed in this Dordogne town and decided to try this restaurant on advice from the TI lady and were very happy we did. The chef/ owner is a charming British born man who we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with and his food was wonderful. This is a gourmand restaurant so there are many courses and each is freshly prepared, so it is a longer meal, but no more than other restaurants of this type in France. The Amuse was delicious, a mushroom in cream sauce tart, mains were perfect, tender duck, and lovely fish and dessert was divine. The decor was charming and the view of the river was very enjoyable and relaxing. We would return any time and highly recommend it for a gourmet French dinner if you are in the area.

“Perfectly prepared slow food”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

On a slow weeknight in April, we were lucky enough to be the only guests at this restaurants. The chef warned us that they hand make each dish so it can take a bit of time between courses. It was worth the wait! Each item they brought out was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Never over sauced or salted. If you have the chance it is a definite must dine!
