“for budget travel good place to stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

On Koh Ngai everything is overpriced... so if you get a 1200 bath room in this resort (the cheapest room)... you made a nice deal... you get a swimmingpool, beach chair....a nice, clean room and a great place for snorkeling.....

but....
If you want to go to the main beach (the nice beach) you have to walk around 10 minutes and in the evening you can not walk there because of the flood... and this is the first problem of this resort.... also because the food there is really disgusting. The second problem is that the stuff at the reception one particular girl (the only one who speaks perfect english) has a really strange behavior....with a lack of respect... if you have a question she trades you like a child who ask a stupid question....and this was not only my impression .....other guest told me the same....

Stayed there for 3 days 2 nights, everything is all under one roof.
45 mins boat ride from Had Pak Meng beach to this island.
Food was superb to my expectation. small private beach corner and the only resort with its own jetty for embarking and disembarkations. room was slightly dated but most time spending is outdoor. as tranquil and peaceful it can be, overall experience 7/10 rating.
moonlight was as bright tat could lit up the night.. massage was great deal but there is only 1 pax working, best time to visit during dec-april.

Room Tip: take the beach front (near to the restaurant and amenities) or family suite (best view but bit pr...

This is as close as you can get to resort perfection at a reasonable price anywhere in the tropics. A whole beach all to itself, accessible only by sea, Koh Ngai Resort is impossibly pretty from the sea – a crescent of sand, the huts set amongst the palms and the hills rising above as a backdrop. But what transcends this vista is its animation – the vividly tinted fish playing with your toes right up to the shoreline and the birds happily ignoring the human intrusion – the ‘Mr Golds’ hopping between the huts, the swifts skimming the surface, the cormorants diving and, bewitchingly, a flock of itinerant hornbills descending volubly on the resort once a day. The rooms are clean, the food is fine, the service is warm. We shall be back!

We stayed for 3 nights, rooms are very dated and overpriced. Food was very dull for Thailand. After paying in cash, the hotel then proceeded in charging my credit card. They would not respond to any contact. I also learned that the had done exactly the same to a friend.

The main beach has far better accommodation for better prices. So please do your self a favour and never stay hear. Worst place I have ever stayed for the money! I had this opinion before they charged my card.

The hotel is isolated and you need to walk through the jungle to get to other places to eat - and the hotel restaurant was quite bad. Nice rooms and a good size pool. The beach in front of the hotel is not very nice - the nice ones are a hike or boat/kayak-trip away. All in all not very good value if you are not after the pool.

Lovely setting and gardens. It is a bit isolated from the other side of the island - a 40-minute walk through jungle to get there. But the other resorts, except Paradise, are just a short rocky walk/15-minute kayak ride round the corner.

The staff are friendly, it has its own beach, the food isn't bad at all - it's a good place to laze away a few days and there's stuff to do, aside from the aforementioned walking and kayaking, like snorkelling, a pool, trips to other islands, massages etc. The views from all edges of Koh Ngai are lovely.

Room Tip: The fan- and aircon-rooms are in blocks. There's nothing wrong with them though. If you don'...
