This is the nicest resort I have ever stayed in in Thailand. It is a wonderful balance of class, good taste and simplicity. It is a perfect escape from the modern world. I would recommend coming here if you want to escape life and relax for a few days. The food is really, really good here and the staff are exceptionally friendly.

If you are somebody who wants a 5* Hi-so resort then this wont be for you - go to Koh Samui or Phuket instead. However if you want a simple bungalow in a quiet, peaceful, natural resort then this will be perfect for you. The views of the islands from the restaurant and beach are stunning, it will take your breath away. It is so peaceful. I will definitely be going back. It is quite expensive but I don't mind. I'm just so happy because I thought places like this didn't exist in Thailand anymore.

Lastly, I recommend the Massaman Curry gai and the Satay : )

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were looking for a quiet spot with nice beaches, blue water and snorkling, good food and compatible people. We found it all here. The cabins are comfortable, the help is courteous and the restaurant and common areas tremendously relaxing.

I don't know what else to say...the reviews we read were good, but they all had some kind of reservation - the shower wasn't good enough; no alternative restaurants - the only thing missing was a refrigerator in the bungalow, but who cares when cold water and/or beer is so cheap?

I wanted to spend a few days off Koh Lanta and try and find somewhere utterly peaceful and stunning. Which is what I found on Koh Ngai.
There are still only a few 'resorts' here and the place has such a nice sleep feel.
By the port there are some cheaper places to stay, but I wanted to have a bit more luxury on this part of my trip, so opted for CoCo. Although the rooms/huts were high end for Thailand, it is also an Eco resort, so nothing too showy and huts are set on the beach or slightly back in the jungle.
The breakfast's and food in general were catered to a European tourist market, really nice, but did not feel very authentic. This was the only downside of the place. However, a quick stroll up the beach to the right if you're looking at the sea and you find a few really local/family run restaurants with a speciality in fish. In my experience it was all gorgeous, but maybe a bit risky for some as the servers do not speak English so a bit of guess work involved!
There is not much to do in Koh Ngai, but the beach near Coco is perfect with the most beautiful view, so you don't want to do much more. I stayed 3 days and that was the perfect length of time.

We first booked few nights and ended up staying for a week. Very nice hotel with wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Stylish, clean bungalows with very nice outdoor bathrooms. Good food and very goods drinks.

We stayed at CoCo for 7 night, of which only 3 were in our original booking. We decided to extend our stay mainly due to the wonderful CoCo team and the atmosphere of the place.

About the place in general: what we really liked is that the setting (main house, bungalows, surroundings) are carefully designed to combine original Thai atmosphere (a lot of wood used in the furniture etc.) with some modern, trendy vibe. Most of the visitors seemed to be couples in their late 20s or early 30s, like ourselves which brought a nice, relaxing atmosphere.

We had a sea delight bungalow in the second row of cottages which was very nice and had still good views to the sea. The bungalows were very pleasant and clean with open-ceiling hot showers.

Having visited almost all restaurants on the island, CoCo was definitely the best with excellent food and service as well as trendy music which you don't hear often in Thailand. The breakfast was good as well. I recommend everyone to start talking to the staff as they are really nice and fun persons, everyone with their own personality. Thai people may be a little shy at first but once you get to know them, we had so much fun with them and they really made our stay!

Other things that we liked were: the big library of books and the possibility to borrow beach games.

The only not-so-perfect things about Coco were:
- the beach is sonewhat rocky during the low tide - the other end of the beach is better
- we wanted to make a day trip to Ko Kradan but it was not possible to arrange through the hotel but we had to walk to another place on the island
- it is true, as mentioned in some other reviews, that the mosquito nets had holes in them but we were only annoyed by one mosquito during our 7-night stay
- wifi did not work but we didn't really need one

Regardless of some minor things, we think that CoCo is an excellent place and we would and probably will go back some time in the future.

Room Tip: A sea delight bungalow seemed to be good value

We arrived on Koh Ngai at low tide (unfortunately) and had to struggle from our long tail across stony shallows toward the hotel with our luggage. Bad first impression, but after that Coco Cottage is a very nice resort/hotal and Koh Ngai a pretty island. There are about 10 hotels on the island but no shops and no roads/motor vehicles so it is a very peaceful sort of holiday. There is a walk over to the other side of the island (Paradise Beach) which is well worth doing. We along with most other guests in Coco were only there for 3 or 4 days and I would suggest that is about as long as you'd need to experience Koh Ngai.

Room Tip: We stayed front row, but the 2nd 3rd and 4th royws are cheaper and you still are virtually on the be...

Having returned to koh ngai after twenty two years it was a pleasure to see it has retained its beauty and charm . Coco Cottage fits into the setting perfectly, the bungalows are really well done and the staff where excellent. We stayed for five nights over Xmas and we all really enjoyed our stay . The food was good , probably the best on the island.
Paradise beach on the other side of the island really is a gem.
