Resort with stylish bungalows. A shame that the finishing isn't as good as the design. Koh Ngai consists of about ten resorts, so it's very quiet, and you have your own private beach (we had enough chairs during our stay). There's a trail in the back of the resort if you want to get into the jungle.
We had some rain and would have liked a room with wifi and a balcony WITH a roof. The frogs liked the rain though and kept us awake the whole night (even with earplugs).
The breakfast buffet is not so large, but OK. Restaurant's too, but you can try the other resorts restaurants for a change.
We used the Tigerline Ferry to/from Lanta, but I think the Garden Hill speed boat, with a shop in front of the resort, is a better option.
The neighbouring Fantasy Resort offers a minishop, tour company (snorkeling tours to e.g. Emerald Cave or Koh Ma (which can be seen from the beach)) and a huge diner buffet twice a week.

Rooms are basic but clean and well kept, there are sea views from all rooms that are truely amazing and are very comfortable although beds could do with extra pillows.

The resort is definitely on the best part of the beach, there are limited loungers but lots of deck chairs also so we found this ok. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean (and we saw it being cleaned) and many guest were using it during our stay. It is definitely the nicest looking resort on Koh Ngai too.

I became unwell the first night due to poor food eaten in Koh Lanta but the staff were so helpful. When it was clear I was not becoming any better they arranged a transfer for us to Trang and extended our stay for us when we returned 24hrs later. The highlight of this resort apart from the amazing beach and view are the staff. They bent over backwards to help us during our stay and made us feel reassured when I was unwell and really welcome.

The only improvement the resort could make would be with regards to the restaurant, the resort has the opportunity to become the best on the island if they can get some decent food in the restaurant as there are limited choices on the island as a whole and the restaurant food was ok.

Amazing staff and location. Pool is brown. Massage is amazing. Whilst we were there I wrote that it was the best place I have ever been anywhere, ever (I've been to quite a lot of amazing places). I would go back. If there was better wifi and the beds were softer this place would be true paradise.

Oh yes, the wine was super expensive, so if you like a glass of wine go to the shop down the beach and they will open it for you in the restaurant.

If you are looking for some relaxing days on your holiday, this is the perfect place.

The staff is overwhelming friendly, bungalows are charming, the beach is fantastic and the restaurant is serving delicious food.

Although there is not much to do on Koh Ngai, we enjoyed every minute of our stay and definitely want to come back. The peace and quietness on this island is indescribable - a true honeymoon feeling. Especially on Thanya Resort, that has the best beautiful undisturbed location right on the bay.

As mentioned by others there aren't many sunchairs, which seemed to be the only issue. Some guests were keeping their towels on them during the night, which we found somewhat obscene. But just get up early and reserve your chairs - and watch the beautiful sunrise.

Free wi-fi is provided around the restaurant area, and we had no problems using it at all.

Room Tip: The beach front bungalows 1 & 2 are closest to the restaurant area and will probably be within w...

We came here as I had been to Koh Ngai on a snorkel trip before and was taken with how beautiful it looked. We had arranged to stay here for the last four nights of our holiday to chill out. Our visit turned out to be a mistake. The resort itself was beautiful enough, but if you looked closely a little shabby round the edges. The pool looked dirty and the paved pathways were a bit treacherous in places. When we got to our room we were disappointed to find no tv - when a resort has literally nothing to do and no entertainment nearby the least you would expect would be a tv to watch before you go to bed. The air con was pitiful, which was ghastly as the heat was stifling, and the doors all had gaps which cockroaches liked to squeeze through. The bed was rock hard and we were most disappointed with the food and drink - over-priced and largely inedible. The red curry was awful, the sticky rice was comedically bad and they ran out of crab and gin (which we had ordered) - not good during high season. The wifi was non-existent and the resort doesn't have a computer for guests to use. We decided within a few hours of arriving that we couldn't stay there and made arrangements to head back to Koh Lanta, even though we had paid for four nights stay it was worth taking the hit. The reception staff were lovely and helped us arrange travel back, we couldn't fault them at all, it's just a shame the resort has no atmosphere at all, and seems to take advantage of the fact there's hardly any alternatives around to eat/drink at.
