My family is blended. We just got married in December, but we took our 2 children on our first joint family vacation that was longer than a long weekend last June (2013) to Angler's Cove in Redington Beach Florida.
We both grew up summering in Florida, so we aren't newbies, and we had expectations about what we wanted our kids to experience as well.
Angler's Cove was great! First, let me tell you the condo's are HUGE. We thought we would be getting a couple small bedrooms and some small living space, but the condo was well over the size of a house. It had 3 large bedrooms. Two of them contained 2 queen beds each with their own full bathrooms, and the master was a king size bed with its own bath as well.
The kitchen was well equipped, we had plenty of linens, and there was cable tv for when an unexpected storm kept up in a day of our trip.
The condo also has a giant size wrap around patio that was really great to overlook the long-pier and ocean and watch the storm passing through.
Nearby are several restaurants, a Publix, ice cream parlor, and even within 5 minutes a Walmart for forgotten items when packing.
Right on the beach, with a hot tub and nice pool, as well as grills and picnic tables, this condo does an excellent job of accommodating their guests.
Nearby, other than the beach, are lots of dining options, entertainment, and fishing.
We ate at a great seafood restaurant we found online with great ratings and were not let-down. We drove about 5 minutes south on the barrier island to St John's pass where we were able to let the kids do a little gator adventure that was surprisingly fun, bought some sweet goodies, and looked around some cool shops.
If you don't mind paying there is a great pier right beside the condo, albeit the fishing was horrible when we were there with the incoming storm, but it's still a great experience if you want to pay and have the convenience. For those wanting to fish without the huge cost and don't mind a little driving, there is a great fishing locale at the old bridge in Tampa, and the new bridge is amazing to see.
We also drove into Tampa on the day the tropical storm was hitting to visit the MOSI museum with the kids, who had an absolute blast, and it kept us busy all day long for a fair price!
One of the best trips I've taken, and would definitely go back.
Highly recommend Angler's Cove!

Room Tip: Rooms on the Pier side are quieter and have a cool view. The closer to the front the better for ocean view and pier viewing. They have an elevator so get up as high as you can!

Anglers Cove worked out great for a vacation with family. Having 3 bedrooms/baths was great with teenage girls....everyone was comfortable and had privacy. Our unit had most everything we needed to have a successful stay including games, plenty of beach towels and a drying rack for swimsuits. The pool was mostly always busy (lots of children) but there were plenty of chairs to go around. Of course, the beach was just steps away if you wanted a little more quiet. I would recommend it for family gatherings.

Stayed here with a couple of friends and will definitely be back! Plenty of room for all of us and such a great location. We had a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom condo and 2 of the bedrooms had 2 double beds in them so this is a really great place for families or groups. The pool and hot tub were great and the beach is right there so this was perfect for our group.

Room Tip: Ocean view was nice. Great sitting out on the balcony relaxing.

Arrived and office was closed but room was ready and waiting for us. Condo was beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you need. Great pool and grill area it was never busy. Beach is right there and also was never busy. The only negative thing was there was no washer and dryer in the condo( they are on every floor for everyone to use for $1.75 per wash and dry) with 4 adults and 7 children it's a lot of laundry to do. Also another negative is you have to wash your own towels. Both of these are only small things that for me all the positives far outweigh them!! Hope to be back next summer!

We have stayed several times at Anglers Cove when our children were young and now grown up with their own families. We love the appartments, the pool/spa, the beach and the friendly atmosphere. We love Anglers Cove.
