I come to Grafenau once year on business and have stayed at a few guesthouses in the area. This is the pick. Very friendly staff with a good grasp of English (I am Australian). Rooms are comfortable. A pleasant bar area with a good resturaunt attached and nice wine list. It is a little bit outside the actual township but that is fine by me. Nice rural outlook. I will staying here agin next month for about 5 days. Highly recommended.

spend a few days hear every year when the motocycle season starts, they have a super package deal, the rooms are the best, love the old bavarian style, wonderful spa area, very easy to call for a massage, nice pool, to help work off the ''wunderbar'' food thay serve.
we were cought in the rain one day, apon returning to the hotel we were meet by the boss, he turned over a key to the heating room so we could hang up our riding gear to dry it out for the next day, he also moved his trailer so we could have a roof over our motorcycles at night, we are treated like kings every time . ''postwirt'' is very highly recommended

The Hotel was redecorate in the last years. But some rooms are redecorate. They are typical "german" Rooms form the 80's. The hotel is approximately 25 Minute walkaway from Grafenau.
The wellness and Restaurant area are very good. Perfect for relaxing form winter hiking and Dinner!

Room tip: Do not choose the cheapest room rate! The rooms are ok, pay a little more and the price/value rate are better!

We stayed there several times around Christmas time to have family reunions.
We chose the apartments, which are very cozy and spacious.
Always had breakfast in the hotel, very good way to start the day with a lot of fresh and tasty local products. In addition you can have an interesting chat with the senior Mr. Beck (previous owner) who can tell you all about the local politics.
Dinner in the hotel never disappointed us either, The junior owner (Josef Beck) also is the chef and prepares great dishes. Good wine and beer selection. The staff (the owner's charming wife including the kids) is very attentive.
It truly is a place to relax.

I stayed just for 1 night, but as a business traveler I can just say that everything was just splendid! Highly recommend if you are in the region.
Great local dishes that go well with local beer.
