Warm and friendly staff.
Good breakfast and coffee bar.
Nice view for the roof-top.
Location is easy to find, but the closeness of the church bell can be annoying.

Loved this hotel. Spotless clean, extremely helpful staff. Good size room. Cute terrace to sit out on. Perfect location. I really want to go back to Favignana and if I do I will definitely stay here again. So easy to find from the port as well. Hire a bike when you are there – it’s really cheap and you have easy access to the whole island so can get to the beautiful beaches in no time!!

Undoubtedly the best part of our recent trip to Sicily was our stay at 'Il Portico'. The service was impeccable, breakfasts particularly noteworthy (a good selection of sweet & savoury: a big bonus being the selection of different homemade cakes every morning) and the room was clean and comfortable.
The room we were allocated initially was rather claustrophobic but the biggest problem was that, as we were sleeping with the window slightly open, we were woken by people smoking in the garden (which our room looked onto) from 6am onwards. To their credit, the staff moved us to a different room on another side of the hotel - only problem with this one was that a very loud motor from a neighbouring building was buzzing 24 hours a day. Worked out OK for us as shutting the window blocked out the noise but, as we don't like sleeping with air-conditioning, I guess this could be a problem in the summer months (?). Certainly not the hotel's fault though - with the close proximity of other buildings in the area, 100% silence is just not feasible.
My only pernickety complaint about the rooms is that the bathroom accessories (soap dish, etc.) were rusty and a bit manky with soap from previous guests - understandably, due to the design - but not very nice.
The location is absolutely perfect for who prefers to have all the convenience of shops, restaurants, car/bike hire, etc. in close proximity. We could stroll quite happily around the piazzas and pop back to the hotel within 30 seconds if we needed to pick anything up from the room.

Clean and modern rooms. Good Breakfast. Nice seafood
in the town. Beautiful sea. Make sure you see the prehistoric cave drawings
on the island nearby.

We spent one wonderful week in Favignana and Il Portico helped make the stay a special and memorable one. This charming hotel has a winning combination of a home-away-from-home atmosphere, simple elegance in its choice of design and accessories and a perfect location.

The service was impeccabile: always friendly, always helpful, always on hand. Leo's and Fabio's suggestions and recommendations were always spot-on. Due to the variable weather conditions, Leo would advise us which beaches to hit first and what to expect. This was very comforting, especially when we wanted to get the most out of a 7-day trip of sun and sea.

We really felt spoiled at Il Portico and in so many ways. The rooms were simple, clean and neat. The en suite bathrooms were modern and fitted with Villeroy-Boch porcelain sinks. The Frette towels were absolutely wonderful after a hot shower. The little clothes rack on the small, but appreciated balcony was a big plus, especially for hanging up beach towels and bikinis (the towels didn't dry much due to the humidity, but that's not the hotel's fault).

Make sure you try the hotel's roof-top terrace with lovely sun loungers, a Jacuzzi and an outdoor shower.

Everything was easy to reach. The 2 main squares were behind the hotel. All the city's shops and restaurants right there. Affordable and friendly bike rentals are just around the corner.

The hotel suggested a fantastic boat tour around the island with Andrea, a wonderfully entertaining captain and guide. We had a light typical lunch on board between admiring the coastline, swimming in amazingly crystal-clear waters and visiting a beautiful cove.

Last, but far from least, is the breakfast: I thoroughly enjoyed the assortment of cakes that hotel staff prepared themselves on a daily basis. The ricotta pie was heaven, the chocolate-coconut cake light and airy, the lemon-cream pie was refreshing, perfect for the hot weather. There are also cold meats and cheeses, yogurts, juices, fresh mineral water, teas, coffee, small rolls, cereals, jams.

The selected furnishings from Varaschin and Schoenhuber-Franchi made us feel important and gave this already welcoming place a relaxing atmosphere.

The airport transfers were organised to perfection. On our last day after check-out, we were able to leave our bags at the hotel and hit the absolutely gorgeous beaches of Favignana one last time. Before we left hotel staff gave us clean towels and let us use the shower on the roof to rinse off the salt water. I can't thank them enough for that. It made the departure so much more comfortable.

A big thank you to all of you at Il Portico. You really know how to take care of your guests and make everyone feel special.

We had a nice few days at the hotel which is run in a very friendly and quiet manner by the young Gentile family. Well appointed and tastefully furnished rooms, modern and comfortable. Nice breakfast. Great roof terrace! The ambiance of the hotel is relaxing and because of the location, a couple of minutes from the port and just round the corner from the main church and town square, you get the benefit of being near everything the town offers. Defintely a great place to recommend.
