This is the second time we have spent a week here. It is a wonderfully different place. Not for the unresourceful holiday maker and not for those seeking the buzz and noise. The place is immaculately clean. The food is very good. The staff are amazingly friendly. The setting totally different. The decor quite unique. Getting there requires resourcefullness. Once there you really are away from it all. It is for very specific tastes, Suits us perfectly

We spent ten days at Cave Bianche Hotel with our 5 years old daughter. The place is really fantastic and unusual ... who did already slept in a pit where stone is mined?
All the staff were friendly, the restaurant is very good. It has been a perfect relaxing holiday in a wonderful hotel and in a splendid location.

Room Tip: Rooms are cleaned and essential with modern furniture

We choose this hotel over the other offerings on Favignana mainly for the novelty factor of staying in a quarry. However, we could also see from its website that it was a relatively new hotel and is well designed making the most of its backdrop of the four clean cut quarry walls that surround you in every direction. And the hotel did not disappoint on any point.
The hotel is has plenty of areas and seats around the hotel (inside and out) to relax so it easily somewhere where you could relax for the day if you choose not to explore the island. We really took advantage of the four heated jacuzzis and the pool, which are best enjoyed (with your drink of choice) in the evening when the sunset turns the walls of the quarry orange.
The rooms themselves are minimalist in furnishings (not in a bad way) and our room like most on the ground floor have a door out to hotel grounds, where we had a table and chairs.
Other key selling points of this hotel is the staff and the breakfast. The hotel staff were very personal and helpful throughout our five-day stay and the breakfast served in a marquee type stucture beside reception was excellent with great coffee and a good selection of fruit and pastries like only the Italians can do!
The only hesitation that we had was its location which is around 3km outside the main harbour town of Favignana. However, I would suggest that this is one of its benefits or at a minimum not a reason to avoid this hotel. The walk to town is around 35 minutes along a quiet, flat country road giving you a chance to see the island. The main sandy beach (Lido Burrone) is only 15 minutes walk from the hotel. If walking is too slow for you, the hotel hires bikes (and mopeds) for a small fee which allows you to explore the rest of the island. Lastly, given the town of Favignana itself is a small fishing town, you might find that by staying in town also that you might have the town covered too soon on your stay. Taxis are available in the evenings and the hotel does offer a shuttle service, but be sure to check with the hotel first as there was some confusion over its operation when we arrived. But the hotel did shuttle us in and out each night.
As for the town, great cafes and excellent seafood at every turn, which is landed early morning at the pier.

Last week I organised I workshop at the Cave Bianche for 12 participants flying in from all over Europe (and one from South America). Marvellous setting, efficient and friendly staff made it a highly productive event. The hotel also provided transportation free-of-charge for our evening dinners in town. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something special.

This hotel is built inside a quarry which doesn't sound spectacular but believe me it's a cleverly designed boutique style hotel. It transforms in the evening when the sun goes down and the outside lighting takes over.
There's a great choice at the buffet breakfast and the evening meals were superb as long as you like fish!!
The staff? All the staff were friendly but in particular the restaurant manager and head reception were first class, very attentive and spoke perfect English.
For 25 euros per person the hotel can arrange transfers from the airport to the hotel which also includes the ferry which would normally cost about 9 euros each.
You can hire a scooter or bikes directly from the hotel. The scooter is fun to use to tour around the island at your leisure, a bike is ample if you just want to get into town (about 10 minutes) or get to the nearest beach....

This hotel is great. The only downside to this hotel is getting there. its about 12euro cab ride. so after taking the ferry you have to go directly to the hotel to drop your bags, then get back into town, then you have to pay to get back to the hotel. so add 36euros when thinking about staying at this hotel. the idea of renting a scooter or bikes is great but you cannot do this directly from the ferry if you have luggage. we rented a scooter in town and toured the island and it was great.
the hotel is quiet and very clean. comfort is average. the bathroom was great. the hotel is beautiful. the breakfast buffet was nice. we also went in the individual hot tubs which was relaxing.
the staff was helpful but also wanting to set you up with deals to tour the island, or rent their scooters.

Dear GodisGood
thanks for choosing Cave Bianche Hotel.
Unfortunately it takes too much time to get a scooter, we apologize for that.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
... more   less
