I loved my tour with human connections. Maya was an amazing tour guide and connected us with merchants and artisans across Bucerías. I loved it and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Great organisation, very sensitive to the locals and well worth going. Our guide was excellent with very good English and good at translating. We went to the cheese ranch and had a fabulous lunch. I made my own tortillas and my wife helped make the cheese. We also visited Francisco, the ceramic maker. All in all, a well organised and enjoyable trip.

Stephen, we so appreciate you taking the time to leave this kind review. We're glad you and your wife enjoyed taking part in the cheese and tortilla-making workshops with Yadira and Segis on their Rancho las Parotas, and visiting with Francisco and Silvia in their ceramics workshop, Casa de la Iguana. Thank you for participating on this Heartland Traditions Tour and for traveling responsibly!

Although my recent trip was to Puerto Vallarta, I ventured north about an hours drive (by Uber) to the Human Connections office in Bucerías to take part in this tour. It was well worth it. I was attracted by the tour description which included a visit with an artisan potter, but really the whole trip was such an interesting cultural experience! The folks who run the tour are friendly and knowledgeable, the transportation comfortable and safe, and the artisans they work with are wonderful people that are so welcoming. On this tour we visited the aforementioned potter, Francisco Villalobos and his family, but also a stop at Valle De Banderas and the sustainable Rancho Las Parotas. Of course a delicious meal was served at the end of the tour. I highly recommend this trip if you’d like to get out if the resort and actually experience Mexico. There’s a bit of a ride involved but even people with mobility issues will enjoy this trip as you are shuttled from one place to another without tons of walking.

Wendy, thank you for joining us on the Heartland Traditions Tour all the way from Puerto Vallarta! It makes us so happy to hear that you learned a little more about the people and communities in Valle de Banderas and San Juan de Abajo. As a responsible tourism organization, we strive to make our programs available to all people, so thank you for noting that. We appreciate your commitment to traveling consciously and we hope to see you again soon!

We really enjoyed what Human Connections is doing by traveling into the countryside away from all the tourist activities for a day. We were honored to visit two homes of people with vision and passion. It was a joy to spent the day with them and participate in hands on projects they had to offer. We will be back next year.

Elly from Human Connections took our family of 6 on a wonderful tour. First stop was Adela and Alberto’s orchard with their beautiful flowers and fruits. It was very interesting to learn about how the local people farm in this area, and Adela and Alberto were very welcoming and willing to show us their operation. After that we traveled to meet Segis and Yadira, where they showed us how to make cheese and tortillas, and we got to enjoy a great lunch.
This tour was a great learning opportunity for us and we would recommend it for anyone who would like to learn more about the rural area.
