Well worth the short drive out through the Gorge or even after you have done the Gorge walk, plenty of parking and on the nicer days you can sit outside and it is in such wonderful Location.
Plenty to choose from on the menu and we had Coffee and a scone that came out with Jam and cream.Presented very well and the 4 of us that went out could not fault the place and will come out next time for lunch. You can bring your Dog out if you wish as they have a special place for them.
With the bush setting and also a gift shop available and the inside of the Cafe with all the exposed woodwork and beautiful windows this is well worth a visit.

The Bridge Cafe is a good place to stop, eat, and stretch your legs.

When we arrived, we were told that there would be a 30 minute wait for new food orders to be cooked, but there were several options available in the cabinet that were pre-made (wraps, sausage rolls, and frittatas, as well as a variety of cakes) that could be provided right away. As we could not wait the 30 minutes, we went for the pre-made option. Everything tasted good. Prices are typical NZ cafe prices (I will include a menu link if you need more info on prices and options). Food is available for non-vegetarians and vegetarians. There is a kids menu too (including the traditional NZ mousetrap sandwich, a favorite with my kids).

There are many things to see on the property, such as chickens, horses, and old stagecoaches. You can bring your dog onto the premises and park them at the "dog parking" spot. There is a playground and sandpit for the kids. There is also horseback riding, for those that are interested in an activity (and you can also go on hikes near here on the Gorge trails).

It is a good place to stop with parking available. We will stop there again.

FYI, there is an outdoor pizza oven and on Friday nights in the summers, they have wood fired pizzas available.

We were visiting a friend in Woodville and decided to take him out for lunch. None of us had been here before and decided to give it a try as we'd all heard good things about it. It is tucked out of the way but it's definitely worth crossing the bridge for!

We were surprised how busy it was, so this immediately told us it was a popular place for people to brunch, lunch, or just stop for coffee. There are plenty of yummy things to choose from on the menu and I had a tough time deciding what to have because everything sounded so good. My partner and our friend both had the Pulled Piggy Burger, and I had the Field Mushrooms with Blue Cheese and Rocket. We weren't disappointed the food was really good and we will definitely go back again.

This is a real gem. The food is excellent, the staff helpful and friendly, and the surroundings perfect. The cafe has a rustic feel, and fits into its surroundings beautifully. It is the perfect place to relax after enjoying the Manawatu Gorge Track. The cafe also holds pizza evenings on Fridays during summer. In addition there is a craft shop next door which sells a wide selection of NZ made handicrafts.

Good, friendly service in a nice relaxed atmosphere. We had a largish party of eighteen people. Once our meals started to arrive, all were served within a very acceptable time frame. We had a variety of the options from the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. In fact, all plates were left 'clean' and that is a fair indication of the quality of the food is it not?? Everyone of us would happily return to this lovely little Cafe.
