QE Park is great for the whole family, plenty of things for the kids whilst the cafe across the road does great coffee.
positioned well in Masterton you have easy access to a number of amenities to help you fill the whole day.
the park has great adventure playground, mini golf and plenty of room for the kids to run wild
close by is the pool and a supermarket to get some items for an impromptu picnic
it is well worth putting some time aside for a family visit to QE Park

Queen Elizabeth Park in Masterton used to be a beautiful place to visit when local people were employed to tend the gardens etc, with the grandstand to watch the cricket/athletics, and other events on the oval, the aquarium and the shop to buy ice creams - but sadly the beauty of it has faded over the years and now it has turned into a great play area for children, with the train around the island, the deer park, paddle boats on the dirty lake, ducks trying to survive, mini golf, flying fox, swings, slides etc and a Cafe to enjoy a meal. The new convenience (1) is a "join the queue" one - be aware of this. Hopefully it will be returned to its original beauty in the not too distant future.

The QE Park in Masterton is a wee gem - with a wonderful 'village green' cricket ground as its central feature. But it also is full of mature trees and some gardens, with an ornamental lake with the usual multitude of ducks looking for the 'treats' that small children will provide on a lovely sunny day. Heaps of activities for families with children of all ages. A miniature train circles the 'island' in the middle of the lake. You can be as busy or as relaxed and inactive as you want in this haven from town life - and its within walking distance of the local I-Site - just across the road in fact. Highly recommended for either a little R & R or an opportunity to entertain the children.

This is a beautiful park, with lovely old tress, great playground, a oval surrounded by majestic trees, and out the back it has an aviary with lots of birds, and if your lucky the peacock will display their tails.

Great park with lots of attractions. The Deer park and restaurant are well worth a visit. We didn't have children with us, but it's still a good place to go for a morning or afternoon.
