We came as this was the "place" to take our young family to play. Huge playground and we missed out on the miniature train rides, but our boys had heaps of FUN!

The mini train rides were $1.00 the kids loved it. the play ground was amazing the kids played and played didn't want to leave. we also did the swing bridge walk and saw the deer in the paddock the kids were enthralled with the man deers as they called them with their antlers and spent the afternoon running round with sticks pretending to be deer.

From the front of the street and opposite the I-site centre, this park looks quite impressive with plenty of trees and colourful flowers in view.

The park is bigger than I expected and some of the trees are massive and spectacular.

There are plenty of things to keep you occupied such as an aviary, playground, lake, cafe etc. Also next to the park is an old cemetery which is worth a look (one of the founders of Masterton is buried there).

The lake is quite impressive, not too large but still beautiful, the only downside was the rubbish in the lake, this needs to be taken care of.

Overall a great park to visit or take the kids to :)

My husband and I took our granddaughter here who is 3 and half. She had so much fun, playing in the playground and even had nana going up and down the lovely well built wooden structures that looked like castles with slides to go down on. So much to go on and do for all ages. We all went on the train that goes right around the lake over bridges and through a tunnel. We had x 6 rides my grand-daughter loved it so much. Costing only $1.00 a ride for everyone. Fantastic price!! The train goes around 3 times. Plenty of ducks to feed, swans, pigeons all around and in the lake. There is also a deer park across the swing bridge. Mini golf and skate park. Fun for everyone!!

Kids spent hours playing, on a nice day would be great all day. Mini golf, giant wheel and flying fox were a hit.

It was raining the day I visited but I still managed a good look around from the comfort of my car. I wish I'd known about the Lake House earlier - definitely plan to visit there next time I'm in town, as it looked like a great place for a leisurely lunch or morning tea. There is also a fun-looking children's playground near Masterton's town centre, as well as a lake at the back (hidden unless you look for it) with a nice loop track round it for walking, jogging or wearing out the kids!
