Loved our stay. We booked in for 2 Nights, if we werent on such a tight schedule we would have stayed longer. Its very serene and secluded, it is away from from all the hustle and bustle of the road but close enough to be near to the centre of town. Gary and Karen were so sweet, even when we didnt think our room would be serviced they looked after or room making sure it was spotless.

We would definately stay there again, and would reccommend this place to everyone who reads these reviews :)

Stayed two nights with friends in the two bedroom unit with friends, for a girls weekend escape away. It could not have been better!!! It was perfect for us, while the kitchen as someone had noted earlier was "compact', it had everything we needed and more!!! For us to be able to be totally self contained was brillant it helped to keep within our budget. So we had more money to spend shopping and our day trip to Martinbourgh....Have travelled heaps, this surely in terms of cleaniness ( way up there ) , facilities, comfy beds, amazing value for money, and excellent all round great kiwi motel. The hosts Karen and Gary, were really helpful and welcoming this all just added to this fun weekend away.

We stayed five nights in the context of the Suzuki music camp which was held at a venue nearby. The owners, Gary and Karen, are very kind and helpful: all emails or enquiries were answered promptly and professionally. The place itself is a typical NZ motel with spacious, leafy grounds, trampoline, a few swings, and a fun pool. We stayed in a large studio unit which was absolutely spotless and well equipped. The view over a grassy meadow was stunning. The property is on a quiet street. We greatly appreciated being able to retreat to this have every evening. One of these places that can rightly claim: book early to avoid disappointment. So we did, and we're looking forward to going back.

Our family of four stayed one night at Cornwall Park Motel. The owner was very friendly and although had sold his last family unit he gave us a slightly reduced price on two units next to each other which was very good of him. It's a classic NZ motel but everything is incredibly clean and nice. It had obviously been repainted recently inside and everything was in great nick - as clean as being in a home. Free wifi was a nice bonus. Because it's a few blocks from the main road it's quiet and peaceful. There's a great play area for the kids and a swimming pool. All the units seemed to be full but there wasn't any noise and everyone was super friendly. Probably the best value motel we've stayed in and it seemed clear, owned by great people. Would highly recommend as a value for money place to stay.

We spent three nights at Cornwall Park in a standard studio October 2011. We were on a tighter budget for this trip than normal so the price ($99 per night) was the main selling point, along with the very quiet suburban location,
The bed was very good and surprisingly comfortable but the kitchen facilities in our room were awkward and cramped, which was a bit frustrating on a longer visit when we were preparing meals and snacks.
Bathroom fittings were dated but perfectly adequate. Everything was clean.
The property is old school in its layout, with the rooms in two blocks facing a lovely big grassed common area with trees, picnic tables etc. All the units were full the weekend we visited, and everyone was taking advantage of the lovely weather to sit outside with drinks and food in the evening which gave the place a really nice laid back vibe.
It would be a decent walk to town; we drove to dinner.
Overall, it fitted our bill perfectly, and we would happily return with the only proviso being trying to get a room with a more workable kitchen.

I stayed here for one night with my elderly mother. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We had a two bedroom unit and It was quite small but ok for one night. I think the owners are in the process of renovating the property but the unit we stayed in was rather dated, and the kitchen could have been cleaner. Equipment was quite good. The settee in the lounge was quite uncomfortable.Location to town was good.
