We had read the reports of this restaurant and booked based on mainly excellent reviews. We were a party of 4. When we arrived there was a large school party who were in the process of leaving and there was a good atmosphere.
The restaurant was very efficient in resetting the tables and we felt very welcome especially as they provided breads including a pizza style flatbread.
Orders were taken efficiently however the food came in stages; one of our party had ordered a starter followed by a pasta dish, the rest of us had ordered a main course.
Surprisingly the vegetable came first, followed by a good lamb dish and a little while afterwards two duck dishes which were okay. The starter came around the same time.
Our friend with the starter finished first expecting his pasta dish to arrive : it did not as the waiting staff were doing just that, waiting and talking amongst themselves and to the only other diner we could see who appeared to be a friend of theirs.
It took a little while for our plates to be cleared and we waited to see what would happen next. Some minutes later the pasta dish arrived, by that time our friend did not particularly enjoy his meal.
We had to ask for our bill having decided not to have a dessert.
We had been seated with a good view from the restaurant over the town and church but had not realised that in a nearly empty downstairs restaurant we had been seated by the toilet with its clever opening doors. This caused a disturbance at the regular visits from a party upstairs as they had some difficulty in understanding how many people could or could not fit in. It gave a different view to those in our party who had their back to the window. If we had realised earlier we would have asked to be moved but we were waiting for pasta.
I spoke with the owner, a friendly man who explained the service as being Italian. Perhaps so but not the first class Italian service we received elsewhere in La Thuile and we are regular visitors to Italy.
We had gone there based on other reviews and they clearly do provide good food and service. We had a great start and service butwas downhill before our food came The reviewer who referred to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde experienced it over two visits. We got in one and as we got the bad service first we did not return,

I visited this restaurant with my husband and another couple while on a ski-ing holiday. We were given a table which was near the toilet door, which had an automatic door and caused a great deal of amusement to some young customers and annoyance to us seated nearby.
The service was very poor, the staff spending time chatting amongst themselves behind the bar or talking to a customer who they obviously knew while seeming to ignore us.My husband ordered a starter which was served at the same time as the main course for the rest of us.The waiter/waitresses made no attempt to bring my husband's main course until at least 10 minutes after they had cleared our table.A very disappointing experience. The food was average and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Came here on a skiing trip. Great staff, wide ranging menu, freshly cooked cuisine, clean table linen. What more could one want. I'll be back.

Pepita used to be a mexican restaurant offering something a bit different to all the other "valdaostan" restuarants in La Thuile - but it since the new owners took it over it is a slightly more upmarket version of most restaurants in La Thuile. Food is great, ambiance as I said slightly more upmarket, but then so are the prices.

Had booked based on the review's on trip advisor, but arrived and not sure how family friendly it would be ( kids are 6,10 and 13 ). 6 and 10 had the baby menu and said the hamburger was the best they had ever had, clearly made in house. the rest had fish duck and fillet, with the fillet being very good, worth going for. Service was a bit lack lustre, but OK, nothing different to the other places we ate in La Thuile
