Highly recommend this accommodation. We couldn't get in to our usual accommodation and had to go further afield. What an awesome find. Manager (Troy) blew us away with his kindness and generosity to ensure our comfort and needs were met. Room was spacious and well maintained.
Only downside was the location on a corner with traffic through the night and having to cross the busy street to the beach. WE loved this accommodation and will be returning on our future visits to the area instead of staying at our usual place.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper level have balcony space for sitting and viewing the ocean.

Thank you for your comments! It was also a pleasure to have met you while you stayed with us and nice to see that we will see you again in our Little Manly Beach location.
Maybe you might want to try our 1 bedroom executive suite on the corner of the building where we have installed double glazing to reduce the sounds from outside.
But it is nice also to hear the waves on the beach once the traffic slows down for the night.
Look forward to seeing you again soon
With kind regards
Troy & Tomoko

We stayed for a long, 4 day weekend in a second floor room. The Lodge has come along way from its motel origins, and progressing well with Troy's redefining casual luxury vision.

The double room was really large, clean, modern, and comfortable rooms, with a view of the harbour and Rangitoto. The bathroom again modern to a high standard could be described as overly spacious! The kitchen was really well equipped., the old squeezy sponge was the only point that would loose points!

With one small intimate beach across the road, many more beaches wherever you look, the village and its shops and fab Thai restaurant round the corner and a regional park at the end of the peninsula all make for a great break.

Troy is an attentive host, an eye for detail and nothing too much bother.

I would thoroughly recommend Whangaparoa Lodge and would stay again.

Thank you for the wonderful detailed comments. Great that you enjoyed our 1 Bedroom Executive Suite. Perfect for your 4 day get-a-way as you have some space to move around in and also your private balcony with excellent views.
I'm glad you saw and understood the casual luxury concept and your comments help to ensure that we are on the right track. The "spacious" bathrooms we are also looking to make even better for the winter so stay tuned :)
One of our favourite restaurants is also Maison Thai so pleased that you loved the food there.

Look forward to seeing you again soon for another get-a-way!
Kind regards
Troy & Tomoko

We decided to stay here before heading to the city. Comfortable and very clean. It's on the main road so I'm glad we had earplugs. Across from a little beach and close to some good restaurants. Good internet, big tv and little kitchen. What more do you need.

And happy to see you staying here as a stop over on the way to Auckland. We are getting many more guests like yourselves stopping here and enjoying the beach and the surrounding walks, markets and great restaurants nearby - why would you want to visit the city!!
Look forward to seeing you again in the future sometime

We had a great time at Whangaparoa Lodge from the moment we arrived. The first impression was well made with a series of very helpful and fast email replies to a few questions we had. When we finally arrived Troy was very friendly and welcoming. He cleaned up the wine glass my wife broke with absolute minimum of fuss and the restaurant recommended just down the road was fantastic. The room itself was really clean and the lodge is in a great location. We had a lovely relaxing stay there. The breakfast was just stunning - we thoroughly recommend the continental - way beyond our expectations.

Room Tip: Take the sea view room if it is available.

Stayed for only one night on our way up North ,Troy made us very welcome wished we could have stayed longer ,we had an amazing view from our room . Whangaparaoa lodge is high up in quality and very modern not at all like your usual motel , my opinion why stay in Auckland when you can stay in a gem like this on the north shore . If you are going to be entertaining guests during your stay the corner executive room is a great choice with its large ranch sliders that open up onto a verandah with a beautiful water views , would defiantly stay again . David & Susan Tauranga

Room Tip: Corner suite is the best with the large ranch slider and verandah

Whangaparaoa Lodge is a most delightful place to stay, for a night, week or a month or more. Troy attends to the small details and is a superb host. Just over the road from the beach our grandson spent a carefree hour building sandcastles on the safe sand. Whangaparaoa Lodge is recommended by us.

Arriving yesterday late afternoon we were greeted by our host Troy. He carried bags upstairs settled us in and then disappeared...only to come back a few minutes later with a refreshing iced tea to welcome us. The room is spacious and has these views that you wouldn't find in too many stops. Troy has been a fantastic host and could not do enough for us. It's a must stay and across the road from the beach. Breakfast delivered to the balcony for us to sit out and enjoy the views and freshly baked muffins were delicious as was the eggs served with sausage and bacon. Don't let the busy road during the day put you off quiet and peaceful at night.....

Room Tip: Must stay in room 14

Thank you Gaylene for the feedback! As mentioned upon you leaving us yesterday we thoroughly enjoyed having you both stay with us in our Premium View Suite - the official name for your room "#14"
Glad you enjoyed the little touches, from the iced tea to the home-made muffins, and breakfast which is a recent addition to the offering here as we build month after month in creating our unique stay experience.
Looking forward to seeing you both again next year where you will see some more additions - particularly to the suite you stayed in as it is one of my favourite rooms also.
Kind regards
Troy & Tomoko
