Lake Taupo at its best, water lapping at the edge of the lawns. Eat inside or outside, very friendly and polite staff. Food, the best, whether it be a function, brunch platter, or quiet dinner with friends. The rack of lamb is the best value, however, the salmon or duck are also good. Need to take a sober driver, as the restaurant is wee way out of town, but definitely worth it. The site has a history, used to be beside Braxmere Lodge of years gone by. BYO is bonus, although corkage can be expensive, ask before hand. All in all, a treasure the locals enjoy, the travellers I have taken there, praise the food and the surroundings.
