We spent two nights at this comfortable and clean B&B/home-stay and really enjoyed the hospitality and company of Shirley-Ann and Richard. They were forthcoming with good recommendations of things to do when the inclement weather meant that we could not walk the Tongariro Crossing. They organised a half-day trout fishing trip with an excellent local guide, and then not only proceeded to cook our catch for dinner, but also sent us on a complementary hot-springs dip in a nearby facility. We shared a lovely meal together (Shirley-Ann is a pretty good cook) and enjoyed stimulating conversation and a few laughs over a glass of wine.
One thing to note is that the feel of this place is more home stay than B&B as you share their living room, and pass through it to get to the upstairs rooms (Tongariro/Hinemaiaia). It's also a little way from town in a housing estate, which may be an issue if you don't have a car. This place also seems to cater for the more mature crowd, but saying that, my partner and I (in our late 20s) had a really enjoyable time, and would definitely stay here again.
