The signs pointing to Daniel's Cafe are everywhere on Middle Caicos!! so of course we had to check the place out. We bought bread on a Tuesday when it was delivered freshly baked, and Devon generously sliced some for us to taste. We returned for the cracked conch dinner, then again for the lobster dinner. Each time we made reservations as the cafe normally closes at 4 PM. The food was delicious, made even better by the banter, singing, and tall tales of Devon. What a character he is. When we returned to say good bye he offered us lobster fritters and rice n' peas as a lagniappe for patronizing his cafe. A true original.

“Love the vibe here!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2014

As we pulled in early to Daniel's Café, it looked deserted. It was around 10 am and it looked like it wasn't yet open. Yet, 2 minutes after parking, Daniel's son (Devon?), started up the reggae music. Wequickly slipped into the laid back atmosphere of the quaint café ad Devon started to tell us stories of the area, where he grew up and all the places he's been. We enjoyed some beverages as we looked out into the ocean and watched a mama whale with her baby display quite the show for us, slapping her fin over and over, diving and spouting. We ordered the cracked conch, and fresh snapper. We gorged on their lunch special and the more we talked, the more the food kept coming. Devon kept bringing delectable conch for us to "sample" and enjoy. We wasted a few good hours there, just enjoying the whale show, food and listening to stories. We weren't ready to leave when we did, but had a lot more to see. We even returned 2 days later for a "to go" order and a few more beers. It's a "must-stop" place if only to experience the vibe of "island life" and enjoy some amazing conch!

“you must go here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2014

First time on Middle Caicos and was recommended to try out Daniels' cafe (by his bro, who happened to be waiting for the same ferry from Providentiales). If you like Loud reggae and the ultimate chill out, then sit outside, enjoy the sea and eat fries fish with rice and peas, plus a cooling lager. Option to try hot or hotter chili sauces.

“Awesome cracked conch and fritters!”

We enjoy seeking out "locals" for signature dishes. Daniel's provides great conch dishes as eat in or take out! We did a little of both..worked out well after fishing all day .

“food and”

We travel only yearly, but try to find off the beaten path type places, and really enjoy a unique experience. We found Daniel's on a late morning and were the first to arrive, relaxing to the island music playing on the deck and borrowing binoculars to watch a whale cow and calf breaching not too far away in the ocean. We had our first (wonderful) cracked conch of the trip, and a gorgeous fresh fish. It was fun to try the different assorted sauces and home made pickled veggies and peppers. Devon was engaging and entertaining, and we learned much about seafood acquisition and preparation. Our experience was one of those unplanned, but very good meals enhanced by island sounds, wildlife, and great hosting.
