Description: The Barracuda Beach Bar is a three-table restaurant and bar located inside the Pelican Beach Hotel, right on the beach. It's an outside palapa and they cook to order at their outdoor grill and there's a bar as well.

We walked 2mi from our condo down the beautiful almost deserted beach to Barracudas, and the balcony hangs over the MOST tranquil stretch of beach anywhere. We had great food, the owner is a retired pilot whose conversation was enlightenting and hilarious!!! If you have never been, go!!! And don't forget to ask them what the sign behind the bar that says "SDIAGKTFR" means, you won't regret it!

Had a wonderful time at the Barracuda Beach Bar. Marqui, the bartender and cook bent over backwards to make sure her guests had beverages and were fed. Excellent cook. I know there were previous comments about lack of food and service but that has nothing to do with the bar. Maybe you should do a little research of where you are going. These people survive on what comes on a container ship. If you don't want to live like a local on a deserted island which is paradise, go stay at a Club Med and be a pampered spoiled brat.

We stopped for lunch. They didn't have half the items on the menu: no conch, no shrimp, no lobster, and even the specials listed on the board weren't available. We got burgers and fries, both were overcooked. It's a beautiful location, but we spend a week on North and Middle Caicos and found much better options for food.

Recently traveling to the Turks and Caicos with a close friend, and in the course of a series of absolutely memorable and delightful adventures, we most fortunately found the Barracuda Beach Bar and Grill located in Whitby, North Caicos! The charming beachside bar is part of the Pelican Beach Hotel owned by Clifford Gardiner who not only runs the bar and grill, but offers quality accommodations near a variety of unique attractions on North Caicos. (For more information go to (www.pelicanbeacch.tc/).

Not only is the Barracuda a place to enjoy a delicious lunch or stop in for a drink at this all inclusive island oasis, it is the place to be absolutely captivated and spellbound by the gorgeous turquoise waters, just a few footsteps away. Moreover, on Friday nights, it is the place to be! We were invited to a fantastic Friday night fish fry and enjoyed the lively "ripsaw" music of local musical legend and cultural historian, Lovey Forbes, who sings a variety of tunes from Jimmy Buffett to the Eagles, and writes music for special causes such as the Potcake Foundation, an organizational charity for care of island dogs, whom his wife founded in Providenciales. (For more information go to www.potcakefoundation.com)

The Barracuda Beach Bar menu offers a variety of foods such as burgers, sandwiches, and local fish dishes. For the friday night fish fry, they offered a “fish and chips” specials, which was a choice of grouper or snapper, and plantains and/or fries. It was delicious! (Maqi, one of his staff members who runs the bar was also extremely friendly and so pleasant. She prepared all the meals exactly as you desired). Their barracuda drinks consisted of a variety of mixed drinks with fresh juices and tropical punches that were more than refreshing. This bar is also one of the only places on North Caicos that serves drinks using Bambarra Rum, which is a product of the Turks and Caicos.

Clifford is quite the host, his vast experiences as a pilot make his conversations uniquely interesting, his personality is delightful, and his hospitality and that of his staff--- more than accommodating. We left North Caicos feeling as if we found a friend on the island. He invited us to come back and we were (and still are) extremely grateful for his kindness during our time there. This place is an island oasis on a semi-private 7 mile beach, far from ordinary, and an absolute must if you visit North Caicos!

We liked the burgers, we liked the fries, we liked the beer, we liked the rum punch and we really loved the people. We can find food anywhere, it is much harder to find kindness and friendliness like this perfect little beach bar
