First of all let me start by saying if you want little umbrella drinks and dance clubs stay in Provo. If you want the true definition of a tropical holiday away from it all come to North Caicos and stay at Hollywood Beach Suites! From the moment you arrive in Provo your unique experience begins, a water taxi ferry ride of 20mins takes you to North Caicos, where you will be meet by a representative from Hollywood Beach Suites, she will drive you approx. 15 mins to the suites where you are meet with a delicious native home cooked meal. You can sit in your screened in porch and enjoy your dinner while listening to the roar of the ocean as it breaks on a natural reef that surrounds North Caicos. Your view is awe inspiring. You can take 50 steps and your feet are in the water with icing sugar sand between your toes. You can than choose to walk left or right it really doesn't matter the views are incredible both ways and you can literally walk for 4 hours or more each way and never run out of beautiful beach. When you come back to your suite you have a cozy king size bed in an air conditioned room with an ensuite, full kitchen, living and dining area, with double french doors to open so you can still hear the ocean while you relax inside for the evening while reading your book sipping your favorite beverage. The local people are gentle, kind and friendly folk with a smile always on their faces. The suites and grounds are cleaned daily, there is everything in the suite that you will need while you are on your vacation. Simply bring a few bathing suits and shorts and you will experience a true tropical vacation.

I highly recommend Hollywood Beach Suites to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing and secluded vacation. The setting is lovely and peaceful, the accommodations comfy and well stocked for any adventure you want to have, and the beaches are private and perfect for natural sunbathing. If you are looking for a self-sufficient (read: no nightlife, not many restaurants or shops), rustic-yet-luxurious, quiet place in which to relax, swim, read, explore, snorkel, paddle, rest, and enjoy a peaceful life, then this is the place for you. My fiance asked me to marry him on Whitby Beach - pure romance! We'll be back as often as we can.

First, a comment about the negative rating from Memphis. If you're expecting to stay at a resort with a pool, restaurant, concierge service, and activities director, then you will not like HBS. They don't have all this -- which is exactly why we choose HBS over other accommodations in North Caicos.

The other review comments posted provide a pretty good description of HBS, but here's a few additional observations about our experience.

HBS sits right on the beach. There's a wonderful, natually shaded deck overlooking the beach with lounge chairs and hammocks. Even from your living room and enclosed patio, you hear the waves breaking on the beach!

Unless you have a car (which we didn't) and it's not the off-season (and it was when we were there), you are basically on your own for meals. The kitchen, while small, is well-equipped. There's a grocery store about a 1/2 mile down the road. The bicycles provided by HBS have a basket on the back so it was very easy to bring back groceries.

As recommended by HBS, you should try to pick up groceries in Provo since you would have a greater variety of options and presumably lower prices. Note that while the kitchen is well-equipped, it's not stocked with any food or supplies (except for salt & pepper). So for example, while there's a coffee maker and filters, you need to bring your own coffee. Same goes for spices and other basic staples that you would normally have in a kitchen pantry.

HBS has a nice outdoor grill -- we used it every night for dinner. And HBS apparently did listen to review comments and there's outdoor lighting by the grill.

The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The living room has a nice sofa, the bed was very comfortable, and hot water / water pressure in the shower was fine. There is AC in the bedroom -- we pretty much had to keep the AC running all day & night to keep the bedroom cool (and keep the bedroom door closed). We didn't try to keep the living room cooled by the AC -- I don't think you could even if you tried.

Finally, the bicycles were in in good condition so you could actually go for decent ride. HBS even provides a small ice chest, which fits in the bicycle basket, so we were able to take lunch and drinks with us.

HBS may be a little pricey, especially compared to other accommodations in North Caicos, but I'd definitely stay there again. I'd also recommend to others -- but just be sure you know what you're getting -- you're on the beach and on your own.

Pay no attention to the Memphis review. Place is big enough for regular folk. N Caicos has just the right mix of things to do and a chance to do nothing. HB is just fine. Not cheap but nothing in TCI is. People great; friendlier than Provo.

Hollywood Beach Suites feels like a cozy home away from home. Don't come here expecting it to be posh and resort-like. Even without this expectation, you may get a bit of a culture shock when you first arrive, because the location is much quieter than anything on Provo, and probably anything you are used to back home. But if you really want to really get away from it all and immerse yourself in the spectacular beauty of North Caicos, you'll quickly settle in, and, if you're like me, never want to leave!

The rooms are cozy, clean, and quiet. You will be provided with just about everything you could need for your stay, including: a full kitchen with just about every kind of cooking/eating utensil possible; two-person kayaks that you can take on an approximately 15 minute paddle to the barrier reef at any time; snorkel gear; washer/dryer; bicycles; wireless internet; AC; a private screened-in deck that's perfect for enjoying breakfast and dinner; an outdoor deck with lounge chairs, hammocks, and a breathtaking view; and of course, a prime location on a spectacular and practically unpopulated stretch of beach.

Alveda is the friendly woman who manages the suites and she can help you out with anything you need, from room-related requests to preparing you a delicious dinner to setting up a cave tour in Middle Caicos. If you're lucky, you'll have neighbors who you enjoy getting to know.

All in all, this is a place you can really feel at home. I can't wait to go back!
