“Great site in stunning location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

My fiance and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Invercoe. We stayed in one of the hobbit houses and we are both extremely impressed. We normally camp, however as it was late September and thinking it may be a bit too chilly we decided to stay here. The house we stayed in (Frodo) was fully equipped with a double bed, 2 single beds, a TV, heater, fridge, microwave and kettle. I found the beds to be extremely comfortable and the huts themselves to be adequately sized (don't let the 'Hobbit' part fool you - there is ample space). They were well lit internally and there is a blind on the door for privacy.

The huts themselves and the toilets on site are extremely clean, I could not fault the cleanliness at all. There is also a good number of toilet/shower cubicles, so no having to queue. The showers were hot and the cubicles themselves are spacious.

There is an on-site shop, so if, like us, you run out of the essentials, you will get it here.

We were fortunate that we had glorious weather and were able to sit outside on the decking and have our breakfast whilst admiring the stunning views of Loch Leven and the surrounding mountains.

All-in-all I found this to be very good value for money and a fantastic alternative to camping and we will definitely be staying here again.

Nearly forgot to say that the hobbit houses are dog friendly, so great for those with dogs that struggle to find accommodation.

My girlfriend and I stayed one night in one of the hobbit houses and would stay again. These are great if you don't fancy camping / caravanning or paying £70+ a night for a B&B. They are equipped with a good sized fridge, microwave, kettle and even a TV. It was more than big enough for the 2 of us and the wee decking is great, shame the weather wasn't really nice enough for us to use it. My only niggles were that it could have done with a quick hoover, and a curtain or blinds for the small window at the back would be useful. The camp / caravan site itself has excellent facilities and is in a scenic setting with Loch Leven and Glencoe surroundings. I would definitely stay here again, more than 1 night the next time.

Our large group have been going to this site for years, and its fantastic, facilities are spot on, nice boat slip and now a small 'jetty'. This site is ideal for anyone from chilling out to going crazy on the Loch. Iain and Lynne who own the site are extremley friendly and will bend over backwards to help you. The only thing they cannot sort out for you is the midges or the weather, but who cares when you have views of the Loch and the Mountains. See you soon Iain and Lynne.

This was our first stay at Invercoe Campsite, and it was FANTASTIC, we stayed in one of the Hobbit Houses, it had everything you needed for camping without being under canvas, Tv fridge microwave , and a kettle for that very important cup of tea/coffee, the showers and loos were plentiful and very very clean, breathtaking view over Loch Leven and surrounding moutains, the site it's self is flat and extremely well looked after, the shop has the essentials that you need, laundry room fully equiped with washing machines dryers and an iron, really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again next year.

We have just come back from staying in a 'Hobbit' at Invercoe Highland Campsite and what an amazing experience. The site was in beautiful surroundings, mountains all around with a Loch at 1 end. The site itself had lovely clean facilities. Plenty of showers and toilets for everyone, a shop which had all emergency groceries ie, bread, milk, laundry powder etc. The ground is flat and well suited for tenters. All pitches having ample space for your car and also privacy (not being on top of one another has you can find at other sites). The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this site to friends and family.
Hopefully will be returning next year.

Stayed in one of the hobbit houses for three nights with two children, they are very cosy and have everything you need including fridge, tv, microwave, kettle and light!!
As for the campsite it is in a stunning setting right by loch leven and ideal for exploring glencoe and surrounding area (would recommend the sea xplorer trips that leaves from ballachulish - 5 min away).
The facilities were also excellent with the toilets and shower blocks always clean.
All in all would recommend invercoe campsite and would stay again if we were going up to the highlands .

We have stayed in a few campsites over the UK, this was one of the best purely for the view!! We were pitched right in front of the Loch where we could watch the sunset. It was fantastic!
Facilities are really good, I'm still getting used to having to walk to the facilities but that is besides the point! The toilets and showers are cleaned twice a day, they have a washing up station with a fair few sinks and hot water. Also a laundrette, a recycling area (brilliant) bins and drinking water points all over the park.
There is a small shop on site, it's open at specified hours but if you need anything there is a local Nisa just up the road.
All in all, one of the best sites we have stayed in, just being surrounded by the loch and beautiful mountains was amazing!!
Highly recommended!
