The Glencoe Inn

My wife and I were heading fo Fort William but as we were not leaving Edinburgh before mid afternoon & snow was forecast decided to stop in Glencoe. At £50 for B & B for two it was excellent value, nice enough menu, just had starters and they were very good. Room clean & looked like recently redecorated . Staff friendly. Breakfast disappointing, Ok but black pudding fried and had soaked up the fat, scrambled eggs a bit stoggy. Rest of it was fine but my favourite Stornaway black pudding was ruined. Would stay again at ths price. Views are stunning and the view from dining room & bar had a magnificent sunset over Loch Leven, Ardgour & the Mamores while we were there.

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights and really liked this hotel. The evening meal we had was lovely although portion control for the fish and chips may need to be looked at (3 pieces of fish piled on your plate was a little bit off putting) the bar prices were quite high and breakfast was fine. Only niggle was there was no ventilation or extraction fan in the bathroom so the poor person using it second was walking into a sauna if you had a shower! Apart from that a nice place with stunning views

I booked this hotel for my husbands birthday after staying at Oban Bay Spa Hotel a few years ago.

Pro's
*Nice scenic views
*Good value for money - I also used money of vouchers that Crerar Hotels sent through.
* Staff were friendly and helpful
*Didn't feel overly busy
* Good location for taking a drive and exploring

Con's
*Room was small but wasn't a major issue
*One of the rooms had dogs barking when we arrived however they did stop. I personally don't like dogs being allowed to stay in hotels. My brother has asthma and is allergic to dogs and when I heard them I could only think that if he'd be staying he could have had an attack.
* I asked for my breakfast without black pudding and it would have been nice for them to offer an extra piece of bacon or something to supplement black pudding.

Overall a lovely hotel from there we took a trip to Ben Nevis , Fort William and went to see Glencoe Massacre Monument.

we stayed here for one night as we wanted to try the local ski resort [which was fantasic] we had a family room at the front with beautiful views of the loch,We ate there at teatime ,the food was lovely but i feel over priced as was the bar.Im not sure if they have many children staying as they didnt have a menu for the same so we had to order from ours and they halfed the cost and the amount.Very comfy beds and a clean and handsome hotel

We stayed here in Feb, very cosy and the staff were extremely helpful and hard working. We agree about the noise from the road, but overall we would return. Bar prices are quite high, if you like a few wee drams we would recommend the local distilleries!
Strange that the prices have suddenly shot up? They need to be consistent, whatever the season, this keeps folk in work!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road, preferably at the back!

Booked over the phone asking for a room away from the road, after reading reviews saying it the road noise can be a problem. On arrival we had been booked into a road side room! They moved us with-out a problem. Even in a room away from the road, the ground moved eveytime heavy traffic came by. The hotel is with-in 30 feet of the main A82.
Food, all I can say is the fish and chips...with-out doubt the very best I've ever come across. Breakfast, looked as if it had been sitting under a grill to keep it warm for a hour. Such a shame after the fish the night before.
Staff, very helpful.
Room.......... very 2 star but then again for £50.00 for two, including breakfast it was very good value. Staying for more then a night would be a no, but for a stop over to break a long drive, this hotel offers value for money.

Room Tip: Keep away from the road!
