Description: A lovingly restored bar and eatery in the heart of Tynemouth. You’ll find us midway down Tynemouth’s bustling Front Street just through the sleepy arches of the old arcade. Nestled amongst the boutique shops, restaurants, old pubs, surf shops and deli’s that make up the fabric that is Tynemouth Village, Lola Jeans bar & kitchen has taken over the former space of one of the towns longest standing drinking holes dating all the way back to early Victorian times. We have stripped back decades of misuse and unearthed some period features helping us to create a space combining classic décor, reclaimed furnishings along with some modern additions to compliment the building. The styling concept was the product of many years exploring established watering holes in every place we’ve ever been lucky enough to visit. Taking in everything from continental wine bars to New York roadside deli’s and Parisian pavement café’s to East London’s chic basement bars. The outcome is something that would surely be the envy of many of the above. Enlisting the help of local specialists we have lovingly devised a menu featuring as much regionally sourced produce as we could possibly muster, constantly communicating with the producers at a grass roots level we have put together a selection of fresh food we are very proud of. Our top bartenders with more than 16 years experience between them, on bars from Australia to London, have compiled a list of tried and tested mixed drinks using only the best spirits and finest liqueurs from the timeless Mojito to fun modern classics like the NY Cosmo. We have also collated some of the best beers from around the world along with some firm favourites from wine suppliers across the UK ensuring there is something for every pallet. Please pop in and say hi, whether for some hearty post-surf food or to put our bar staff to the test with one of our fine drinks. Our eclectic playlist will be providing the backdrop for your visit to Lola Jeans, open throughout the day and long into the night. See you at the bar!Love Lj xx

“Excellent Food & Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

Visited the Bar in the last week or so, found it very comfortable with a very friendly atmosphere. Food was great and drinks were well priced. Its seems a venue for the more mature person around the 35-55 plus age range. There were a few younger ones in on the night we visited. all round a tastefully decorated Wine bar with good professional staff, good food and a nice cocktail selection.

“Great Buzz”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

This is a lovely wine bar frequented mostly by the 40 plus age group. The decor is eclectic, with a mixture of different styles of tables, piano stools and comfortable arm chairs. Service is very good and as with most wine bars in Tynemouth very very crowded Friday night onwards. The wine list is not as extensive as I had hoped and the cocktails being enjoyed by others looked brightly coloured.Someone in my group asked for a sparkling mineral water, the bar tender had to dig down deep behind the shelves to find one, clearly not a popular drink here!

“My favourite place for a chilled out evening in Tynemouth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2012

Fabulous sharing platters (we had seafood, cheeses and breads & oils) delicious cocktails and good range of reasonably priced wines. You can take your well behaved doggy too if you have one and they will be made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. We live in Tynemouth and this has become a firm favourite amongst tough competition.

“Excellent family food bar - a hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012 via mobile

We found this gem tucked away in an alley. On Sunday we visited with our 2 year old. We ordered a mixed steak and chicken sharing platter. The food was excellent, heaps of fresh salad, perfectly seasoned meat, great chips. This was perfect for a family sharing food. My son loved the food and accompanying dips. The staff were excellent and prepared for kids. Plastic cup and cutlery provided without asking.
Highly recommended, I am sure we will visit again soon!

“A beautiful find - tastefully done in every way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2012

My partner and I stumbled upon this gem on a weekend visiting friends. They had recommended the place, and we were definitely not disappointed.

The place itself is beautifully designed - exposed brick, great lighting and comfy sofas make for a very comfortable and relaxed experience. We shared the antipasti platter - a generous portion of cured meats and chutneys. My partner ordered the burger (i found it impossible not to dip into his triple-cooked home made chips!) and I lapped up the smoked halibut risotto - (make sure you get it with all the trimmings - the peppered spinach and egg. Delicious)

We sat there for hours afterwards, sipping mojitos and enjoying the ambience. Staff were great - really friendly, and nothing too much trouble.
The best find during our whole weekend - If ever we return it'll be top of our list.
