“Always an experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The inhabitants of the the village of Torret are lucky to have 3 very good local restaurants; Pan Y Vino, Caraba and Sa Pedrera. Sa Pedrera always has had good attentive staff, it has a fine wine cellar that you are encouraged to visit and the best Gin selection on the Island. It strives to serve ambitious Spanish Cuisine in quite masculine portions. Consequently as a bloke I I love it but it I you could struggle with smaller kids or picky eaters.

The restaurants' open plan layout makes good use of a nice view but there is a smaller older and more intimate section for more private occasions. A larger group or a couple could have a great experience here.. we always do

“best meal I've ever had!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

the maitre'd was excellent, my husband was going to have steak but the was advised he could have steak anywhere so why not try the beef wellington and it was wonderful! I had "chic fish and chips" and being a northern girl know my fish and chips but this dish was out of this world, will definitely go back when we return to Menorca next year

“Good food experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

The restaurant is up market compare with most of the restaurants in Menorca. The surrounding is beautiful, mixing tradition with a modern touch, and you can dine in the garden. The carte proposes some adventurous combination of food (eg Pig Trotter pie with soft cheese) and the wine list is extensive, offering the best of Balearic Islands, mainland Spain and some foreign wines. We really enjoyed our dining experience in Sa Pedra d'es Pujol, even if the service was a bit slow and was totally absent after the dessert was served.

This is a good place for a romantic diner.

“For Menorca this breaks the mould”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

This restaurant is really very good, most places in Menorca are quite "rustic" however Sa Pedrera is much more modern, it has what I assume is a "new" extension onto an existing building, has great drive up presence and the food is very good. I'd have to disagree with a previous review saying the staff are cold and uninviting, i've been going for years and found them nothing but polite, I speak pretty terrible spanish but they will humour that and reply in much better english and while they could be accused of being somewhat relaxed in comparison to something in London that is just the way in the Balearics, what is the hurry?

The food is excellent, there are some pretty inventive things on the menu, tasting dishes are a lovely addition to the whole experience, the favourite part for me is the chilled wine cellar, in the middle of August you'd just go in there for a long browse to cool down, but nothing beats seeing the full selection of wine on display, all clearly labelled priced and reviewed for you to chose from. for me Pan Y Vino just tips Sa Pedrera if you are just talking about food alone, but for the surroundings and the wine menu you really must pay a visit.

“My favourite restaurant in Menorca by far”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2012

We have been coming to this venue for a few years and it never dissapoints. If you are looking for something sophisticated and a little more upmarket then you must pay this place a visit. The actual building has been renovated in the last couple of years with a lovely panoramic views out where ever you sit in the restaurant.

The staff are all very friendly and not stuck up like some reviews lead you to believe. The menu is well set out and the choices easy to make from their take on fish and chips with pea foam to the traditional Lobster calderata a very local spanish lobster stew. They also do a wonderful apple pie, which is cooked to order so you need to make sure you leave room for this when ordering from the menu. Sometimes it is nice to share a couple of the starters as some of them can be quite rich and you find this is what the Spanish do which actually makes sense.

The wine list is very long, but again the head waiter is always on hand to help.

I would advise you if you want to get the full benefit and feel of the place then try and eat slightly later, around around 9.30pm -10pm. This is when the Spanish normally eat, which then gives the place a nice buzz.
