Amazing restaurant, beautiful food prepared by French chef, great front of house hostess (wife) and very pleasant staff. Tasting menu worth every penny. We will be back.

“Nice location and service, food overated”
Reviewed August 10, 2014 via mobile

We went to the restaurant for dinner with friends. The place is very nice, great location and ambiance and the service is perfect! Very attentive and friendly, thank you. But the food itself is nice and simple. Nothing extraordinary or to write about. Personaly we have been to many nicer restaurants on the island with excellent food, Pan y Vino is not the one to visit if you are a gourmet client that focuses on the taste. The presentation is nice and portions are small but not too small. If you have the full menu you will not starve!

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

Pan y Vino is a delightful restaurant off the beaten track. Well worth the visit - set down a tiny lane in a beautiful old farmhouse with bougainvillea and wild herbs growing everywhere. The service is absolutely wonderful and nothing is too much effort. There is an extensive tasting menu as well as a menu which changes every 2-3 weeks depending on the best produce available. You can swap between the menus and everything is very reasonably priced. One of the best restaurants in Menorca.

“A Menorcan Miracle”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Do not be put off by the folksy, down-home name, which predates the present incumbents. The cooking in this airy, hilltop restaurant is arguably the best on the island. The chef, Patrick James, is French trained - and it shows - this year's tasting menu has a Breton theme (last year was Normandie) but with eclectic a la carte choices garnered from as far afield as Vietnam and Denmark. His front-of house partner, Noelia Zardoya (both of them worked previously at the sublime Biniarroca Hotel Rural), and her team combine effortless charm with a rare fluency of knowledge about the food they are serving. The eight-course tasting menu costs €50 and includes such exquisite amuse-bouches as a mini-galette with quail's egg and a sablé Breton (a kind of mini-Madeleine) with hazelnuts and caramelised goat's cheese.Other courses feature lobster medallion with aromatic herbs and a crisp buckwheat pancake, John Dory with beurre blanc, and suckling pig confit with honey and cider jus and a tiny onion "tarte Tatin". Even the inter-course green apple sorbet with Calvados is impeccable crafted. There's also a beautifully produced aide-memoire booklet, complete with coloured photographs, to guide you through each course, in case you've forgotten the waiter's faultless description. This is a restaurant at the top of its game, which could hold its head up with the best that London or Paris has to offer. In Menorca, it's a minor miracle.

“One of the best restaurants on the island”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

We have visited Pan y Vino many times over the past few years and went back last night for dinner to celebrate my sister's birthday. It was without doubt, the best dinner we have ever had there and a truly fabulous evening. The food is exceptional (the perfect sized portions, exquisite presentation and imaginative flavours) and was coupled with impeccable and friendly service. All of this is matched by the restaurant's beautiful surroundings, in the midst of a Menorcan garden filled with purple bougainvillea. You'll be hard pressed to find a better restaurant than this on the island.
