“really enjoyed our holiday”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

we stayed for the first time at this hotel in June
We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. Although we didnt have a sea view we were very
happy with our rooms that overlooked lawns and hedges that were kept immaculate.
We had great service from every member of staff we came in connection with and did appreciate
all the work they did.The children had great fun in the pool, kiddi club & mini disco. The hotel
was spotless and the food was very good, something for everyone. Would recommend this hotel to any one taking children on holiday.

We stayed there in the end of June. The hotel is amazing, very well equipped, room was spacious and very nice with extra large and comfortable beds. Bathroom was quite big with long bath and very clean. Flat TV provided channels in Spanish, English, French, German, etc., so that everyone can find something. We had a sea view and also we could see big pool as well. You could find a sunbed without problem, even if there were many guests in the hotel that time - the season had just started. There were two pool bars opened that provided drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic, watter, fruit, chips, nuts, sandwiches, little cakes, ice cream so no problem between main meals. Sometimes the staff came to you and offered fresh fruit and home made ice-cream. They were always smiling, willing to do everything for you, we were so amazed!! Once even paella was served by the pool bar by the chef - Emilio, who is such a great person. He is THE CHEF, He prepared meals with love and he always talked to guest, asking if everything is fine. Also helped with gluten-free diet, he even prepared baguette for the breakfast or was willing to cook a special meal anytime. Staff worked very hard, but always smiling and caring. Unfortunately the sea was very cold, so we enjoyed only the pool, but was quite big. Sunbeds by the pool for free, You could leave towels there only for 40 minutes, you could not reserve them longer. The hotel is as a big oasis, with beautiful garden, secured from the promenade with gate, opened by the key card. A lot of trees, flowers, lawns. There is a long promenade, full of shops and restaurants. Nearby the hotel, there are also supermarkets with very good prices of local goods. A market outside the hotel every monday. WIFI for free everyday for 30 minutes in reception. The lobby is incredible, beautiful, and majestic. Was one of the best and the most beautiful hotel we visited.

We visited this hotel for the first time in June. We decided to book a full sea view room and the view from the balcony was fantastic - full view of the hotel and out to sea. The hotel is quite well maintained. I read some reviews saying it was a little tired but I think that it is being over critical. The room was a large one - probably has an extra bed in at times. The fridge in the room wasn't the best but drinks did cool over time and it wasn't a real issue. The TV has some English channels but not ITV and BBC as I read in other reviews but someone who has a home over there said that is an issue with the Sky owned satellite and not the hotel's fault but I don't know myself. The reception said the hotel was very busy but there were plenty of sun beds and parasols. It did get very busy at the weekend with a lot of Spanish visitors but again not an issue for us. English are in the minority but I suppose we're a bit anti-social since we don't like to travel a fair distance just to mix with people from our own country. I didn't find any of the other customers rude - I think it is how you approach people. Some of the bar staff were a bit grumpy but to everyone but overall the staff were really friendly especially in reception. We went all inclusive since we prefer that option and the food was good, We were there 10 nights and there was a good choice on offer. Pork often appeared but I have noticed that at other AI's as well. The restaurant was very busy at the prime dining time of around 7.30pm. You could always find a table and if not the staff helped you out but with the cooking stations being close together it was sometimes a bit of a battle but never mind - there was always plenty available so you weren't going to starve. There were a number of speciality dishes during our stay which was good. Breakfast had an excellent choice and lunch pretty good too. I would have preferred to have eaten lunch outside at times from the terrance bar but this was an optional extra on AI which is a bit of a downer but it wasn't the case with breakfast. As far as drinks are concerned there were premium spirits available on AI, the beer was San Miguel and was good but the wine was pretty insipid but as I don't drink wine it didn't matter to me! Room cleanliness ok - pretty much like other hotels while you are there. Sheets only changed if you ask them to - check with reception how to do it. We also had a late check out since we weren't leaving until early evening and reception were very helpful in sorting this for us. You have to pay for the safe even on AI which seems common with Iberostar but should really be included in the price. You can have as many sun towels as you need - providing you leave the deposit but I'm fine with that. Excellent sea front walk outside the hotel fronted mainly by bars and restaurants and we didn't venture to the old town or other towns since we came just for a rest and not to get out and about. Used the Iberostar partner transfer and it was perfect - spotless car, everything on time and waiting for us. The only thing I miss is bottles of water in the room. The Iberostar in Majorca we stayed in last year did it as did the Riu in Lanzarote so I am surprised they don't do it hear but on AI you can get as many small bottles and glasses of water you need throughout the day from the bars. I rarely find a hotel where everything is perfect and this wasn't in every way but we really enjoyed our stay and won't hesitate to come back again and we would recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: A higher floor sea view room is worth the extra money if you like to sit out on the balcony.

Have just come back from this hotel and when I have read the previous reviews I seem to have been to a different Hotel. The foyer of the hotel is lovely kept spotless. When we checked in they had given us a single bed for our two and a half year old grandson they said straight away they would change it for a cot my husband asked if there was a kettle in the room they said no but would get one (no charge). Our room was on the 3rd Floor side view of the pool it was immaculate carpeted and furnished to a high standard lovely bathroom. We had no complaints about the food. There was an excellent selection especially for our grandson. The fish was freshly cooked while you waited and the steak so tender. Plenty of choice sweets you would die for. The Restaurant staff would go out of their way to get a baby chair and speak to Harry. .Harry used to look for Manuel and Manuel would make time for him and made him laugh..It depended what time you went down for your meals it could be noisy and crowded but still plenty of room. The children's disco for the first two days was inside then outside of the foyer. The team was excellent the children loved them. The pool and surrounding areas were kept immaculate. The children's pool and area was fenced off great idea. The only thing I would say there should be a small children's swing. As mentioned the beach outside the hotel is grey sand and very sticky but if you go right and walk along the promenade the beach is a little better. We went to Nerja for the day its so pretty. We will be going back my husband and myself in the near future.

Room Tip: Get a side pool view

We had a 5 night stay. Have stayed in many Iberostar hotels. Always clean, staff friendly and helpful, lovely hotel. We had half board. Unfortunately lunch and evening meal cannot be taken outside on the balcony/terrace which was a huge disappointment for us. We love eating outdoors when abroad.

We stayed as a family of 3 for 9 nights on an all inclusive basis in early June 2014. Upon arrival our initial impression was pretty mixed, the formal reception area is impressive and entrance is well kept but the dining room and bedrooms need updating . We stayed in a one bed apt which was a good size but the decor wAs very dated and the wallpaper badly marked and torn in some bits. The bathroom looked as though if had been updated a few years back and the kitchen was functional with a 2 ring cooker and microwave . As we were all inclusive we didn't really use the kitchen other than to warm baby food.
My main issue with this hotel was the dining room , the food was average on the whole but there was a reasonable choice and often one or two really nice dishes to be hunted out. The real problem was the air conditioning was either not on or very inefficient as the dining room was boiling at lunchtime and dinner, add to this around a few hundred people trying to self serve and it made for a rather chaotic and hot experience. On the positive side the staff was efficient , there were always high chairs despite how busy it was and it was very clean. For a hotel this size it was disappointing that there was only a small outdoor eating area set up at breakfast no option to eat outside if Half board, full board or all inclusive .
The entertainment team were great , gently encouraging and super enthusiastic but not pushy. The kids club looked well organised and Again staff there were very welcoming , the mini club area had plenty of spare balls, buckets and spades etc which could be borrowed. The activities seemed a bit more girl focused- drawing, making bracelets, face painting etc . The mini disco in the evening didn't start til 8.30pm which is a big of a stretch for younger children and was indoors for the most of our holiday - again the indoor entertainment area didn't look as though it had changed in 30 years and was very dated.
Overall our impression of the hotel improved with our stay , mainly due to the cleanliness, pool area and staff. I wouldn't choose to stay at this hotel again but would look at more modern iberostar hotels as it did seem very well managed . I would probably rate this hotel as 3.5 out of 5.
