“Another great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Had a great room on the town side this time - much bigger than the one on the other side we had before. Very clean, modern, and stylish. Top class air con. Bathroom bit small, but didnt plan to spend much time there anyway... very handy for sea, sunsets, beachbars, and shops. Wholly accesible by public transport via LIsbon/Cacilhas, or Belem/Trafaria. breakfast here will surprise you with its quality. Friendly, homely, family run place. Second stay here, so quality is consistent.

Room Tip: Main difference would only be of size, I think.

This family run hotel is the perfect place for you if you want no fuss and simple but more than adequate accommodation.
Breakfast is extraordinarily good.
Staff are charming and obliging.
200mts from the bus stop for sightseeing in Lisbon and 5 minutes to the beach.

We have stayed here on more than one occasion, welcoming staff, spotlessly clean and breakfast standard far exceeds other hotels of 4 stars. Try the restaurant, the meat fondue is fab. All in all a great hotel at a great price. We are staying again next week.

A few steps from the ocean this hotel is a very nice and clean place. All the members of the staff were very kind and we were very happy about our choice.
Breakfast is amazing! Every day it is possible to find a lot of fresh food like: fruits, cakes, jams, biscuits, scramble eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, toasts, croissant, sausages and more...
The room was very clean with: tv, fridge and ensuite bathroom.
There is one laptop beside the reception for free use only for guests.
If I really have to find a weakness it could be the Wi-fi only in the common areas.
For me, very recommended hotel in Caparica.

Room Tip: Rooms have no wi-fi connection, however some room like 18 - 22 - 16, and another 3 that I dont remeb...

Just back from a 5 day stay at Mar e Sol, great value hotel in a good location 5 mins from the beach and bars/restaurant/shops on its doorstep. Staff very accommodating and friendly. booked a twin room but then had an extra person staying for a couple of nights which they added a bed in with no problem. Room was a good size could of done with extra hanging space for clothes and drawers. Free Wi-Fi in the room which I wasn't expecting and a mini-bar stocked up which was great as I arrived very late. Breakfast was amazing best I have had in any European hotel, selection of fruit juices, pastries, cakes, breads, hams, chesses, waffles, fruit and cooked breakfast. I would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

Mar e sol is in a very good location on rua des pescadores 5 min walk from the beach. We stayed here a year ago and were very happy. It still has a nice breakfast even though I was very dissappointed in the morning when me not eating meat found that all the warm food was mushrooms with bacon, omelette with ham and sausages! How about some eggs without meat!!
Some of the rooms are ok and some are very small. The rooms have a minbar and a safe and are ok for the price BUT this time we had big problems with the water! Some times in the shower there was just no water at all! The people working in the reception were very nice and gave me extra glasses when I needed them. Unfortunately they didnt stock the minibar or they would have sold much more because it was actually reasonably priced!
Because we were there for a dance festival and really needed the showers it was a big problem for us!
If you get a good price it can be ok, but at times it didnt feel like a 3*hotel. The lack of balconies is also a problem. The ac was good to have as it was 40c at the time!
See my other reviews for tips on restaurants. Costa da caparica is a great place with beach, good cheap food and friendly people! If you go to the Algarve you will have to payatleast 3 times as much and costa is better!

Great location, good breakfast, friendly staffs, rooms are a bit small especially the double ones but for the price we paid was not too bad. Rooms are a bit dated and toilet seat was wobbly but in general not too bad.
If you like sushi you must go to place called wasabi Sushi by the sea, amazing!!!

Room Tip: do not choose room 18 or adjacent rooms because you could hear every singel noise from the lobby and...
