I stayed at Aurora's just for a weekend but I can testify that both the location and the staff is really charming. Various breakfast for every taste, free and wide parking.

This hotel was recommended by a working colleague 10 years ago and we have spent at least one week every year holidaying here. Sperlonga is an unspoilt beauty where time seems to have stood still. The people are friendly and over the years we have got to know some of the locals. Restaurants in the town serve excellent local food and in peak season there are artists performing in the local piazza.

The hotel is excellent, peaceful and relaxing with it's own stretch of beach. Rooms are spacious and immaculately clean, some with balconies overlooking Sperlonga town. Nearby town of Terricina has lots of shops and restaurants and Fondi hosts a huge market on Sundays.

Couldn't fault anything about this hotel or Sperlonga, absolute perfection!!

Room Tip: There are four rooms with big balconies which have private sunloungers as well as a table and chairs...

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Hotel Aurora in Sperlonga. What a find! This resort had it all for our group - history, culture, excellent beach, climate, spectacular views and some real fine dining experiences. Hotel Aurora has the perfect beachfront location with everything you need right on the doorstep. It is very clean and the decor is beautiful with real attention to detail both inside and out. Good beach showers and sunbeds with canopies and really safe bathing with a lifeguard on duty all day till 7pm. Resort was very quiet in late September but this only added to its charm. Excellent restuarants - enjoyed Tropical for pizza, Mudejar for atmosphere and Gli Archi for amazing seafood but don't think you could go far wrong in any of the restuarants. I will definately return to Sperlonga and Hotel Aurora in the future.

Room Tip: Really liked garden view with balcony as it looked over old town. Our room slept 3 comfortably.

We like to be away from the tourist hubs so this was a good choice for us. The village of lezzeno is 7 km from the nearest commercial tourist town of bellagio (a place which didn't impress us much). This means you need to have a car or be willing use the bus. Boats stop about 6.30pm. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable but fairly basic. If you want something a bit fancier ask for one of the rooms in the new block which are very very nice. However, what the old part of the hotel lacks is more than compensated by the staff and owners with their laid back, but friendly and helpful approach to their guests. The breakfast is also impressive with a gluten free selection. Laundry facilities are very modern, though expensive at €10 for wash and dry. It can get busy at weekends as they also run a wakeboarding school, but this is highly entertaining! One thing not to miss is hiring a boat through the hotel, they will arrange it all. For you and the boat will be delivered go the hotel. The only real criticism is that the sunbeds and the sundeck need upgrading.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in new building

Once you drive past places like Portofino going South does not offer any really great hotels on the coast.Half way between Rome and Naples there is a small town built high on a cliff jutting out to sea, this is Sperlonga.I found this town purely by chance having followed the entire coastline from San Remo.I came off all the main roads to Naples and drove along the coast and to my surprise found Hotel Aurora at the foot of the town square built right on the beach and adjacent to everything.Painted bright white with blue trim and surrounded by lush landscaped gardens, private parking and a wide variety of guest rooms with two special terrace suites overlooking the ocean. The rooms range from tiny to more than comfortable with all the usual ameneties most with ocean views,a superb continental breakfast is served daily, snacks available all day and of course and wide variety of wines and cocktails. You on literally on the beach and in the last few years sister owners have splurged on bright beach parasols and comfy loungers, there is a play area for toddlers and young children and a lifeguard always on duty. One unique feature of Sperlonga is the sea which has healing properties has an icy flow of mineral waters, they are carried down through natural pipes into the bay. When you are swimming you will be surprised to see differing colours in the ocean and areas of freezing patches that come and go as waters rise from the seabed to the surface. This unique feature was first discovered by a Roman emperor and became a summer residence for him.Clean sands and usually calm waters make this a heaven for families. The hotel over the last five years has improved each year and is immaculately maintained by the staff who remain year after year the front desk staff are multilingual and all have charming personalities.I took my mother there two years in a row and have been back at least six times in the last five years Prices dependent on season or on chance are in the low hundreds, and that is Euros not dollars. Personal I am a snob about hotels and even though its not the Carlton in Canne I love it and will go back whenever in the area.Clean, tidy and above all very friendly for families, lovers and solo.Worth a try I was never disappointed.

Lovely hotel and best location in town. Located right by sea with private beach and only yards away from the beautiful old town. Bikes supplied free of charge to explore environs. Breakfast buffet was good.
