“'New' Ruins”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

The area has the possibilities to be a good touristy area - unfortunately everything is recent (looks like built in last 10 years) but there are no shops open. We went on a Saturday afternoon and almost everything closed up. Would not recommend unless you had time to waste.

“Not so much ruins”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

Went there in the summer time. I was expecting to see more ruins but most of the buidlings there were newly built. The inner part of the park is surrounded by water, lots of bugs in the summer. The ruins exist in the inner part of the park nothing excavated at the site can been seen. Most artifacts are in various museums around the park. If you go there in the summer bring lots of water and bug spray.

“Just so so”
Reviewed September 8, 2011

While it was nice to be able to walk around without the ubiquitous tour groups with their tour guides I think the park could have been better maintained. The Fishing Islet had bird poop all over it. I also saw one of the workers who are suppose to be working sleeping on the job!

On the positive side while the sculptures are a bit tacky you still learn something about Chinese culture. But the best part of the Yancheng Tourism Zone is definitely the museum cause it's FREE!
