“Nice placw to stay”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Stayed one night at the Hilton Garden Inn near Rome Airport. The hotel is new and has a very modern feel to it. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. It was nice to have butter offered with bread (Had olive oil and vinegar all week in Italy and was craving butter). I had flown into Rome from Florence, and it ended up being a long walk to the area to wait for the free shuttle. Also they were repaving the parking area when we stayed, so we had to walk with our luggage a bit of a distance (I am sure the parking area is now paved since my stay was in April). All in all, this hotel was a nice experience and I would definitely stay here again.

You would stay at this hotel if you were catching a flight home the next day. Unlike the Hilton, this hotel is not located right at Fiumicino airport. Instead, you access the hotel via a free shuttle bus that leaves every half hour (and more frequently during rush hour). To catch the shuttle bus from the airport, you need to walk to the end of the airport terminal on the lower level (turn right when you exit the terminal building) and you will find a bus terminal. There is no clear signage indicating where the bus will pick you up until you actually get to the bus terminal's pickup gate. There you will see a sign for the hotel. The bus stops by to pick up passengers every half hour or so.

The hotel is clean and the rooms are clean and modern if simple. There's in-room wi-fi and good TV channel selection. There is a restaurant on the main floor that serves typical hotel-quality food and offers a free buffet breakfast. There is also a pantry on the ground floor where you can pick up complimentary water and chocolate bars. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a gym although I didn't use it so I can't comment on it.

We had considered staying at the Hilton located at the airport but it was around $100 more for the night. In my opinion, I'll deal with taking a shuttle and staying at a Garden Inn for a night if it means saving $100. I would stay here again if I was waiting to catch a flight out of Rome the next day.

Do not confuse this with the Rome Airport Hilton which connects to the airport and has a free shuttle to downtown Rome. It's very hard to get back and forth from Rome from this Hotel and the Hilton shuttle is not free for these guests at Garden Inn. That being said the room was lovely and the staff were wonderful but Hilton needs to make that shuttle available to this Hotel that is also a Hilton.

Dear guest,

thank you for posting your comment on TripAdvisor. I'm glad that the service and the attitude of the staff were good, I can confirm that the two Hiltons have different service, we do provide a Shuttle Service to and from the Airport and not for downtown Rome. On the other hand from our shuttle bus stop at the Airport there is the chance to go downtown with a lot of Bus private service and train very often during the day. I hope it might help for the future and for giving another chance to stay with us.
Sincerely,

Simone Iovacchini

We stayed overnight at this hotel because it was by Fuimincino Airport and the Hilton Rome Airport we usually stay at was fully booked. Whenever we fly home from Rome we stay overnight at the other Hilton for convenience when we have an early morning flight.
I was disappointed when we could not book at our first choice but decided to try the Hilton Garden Inn this time. It did had a higher star rating than the Hilton Rome and cost a bit more, so I expected the same quality if not better.
Well it was not better. The room we stayed in was a family suite so it was bigger and newer than the rooms we usually booked. This was the only "better" part of this hotel.
We we arrived, there were 4 of us, 2 adults and my 2 grandsons ages 4 & 10, we had 6 pieces of luggage, we had been traveling for 3 weeks and were very tired. The first thing we looked for was bell service to help with our luggage, there was none, we were pointed to a luggage cart and were told we must cart our own luggage.
When we asked about shuttle service to central Rome, a service provided by the lower rated Hilton close by, we were told there was none. They did however provide shuttle service to the airport's terminal 3 from there we were told to catch the train into Rome. Upon returning we were given the directions to where the shuttle would pick us up and we were to wait there and flag the bus down when we saw it's approach.
Breakfast the next morning was pretty sparse and consisited of watery scrambled eggs, under or over cooked breakfast meats, over crispy has browns, a few choices of breads, yogurt, fruit and cereal...not at all as nice as the breakfast at the other Hilton.
The shuttle bus to the airport did arrive on time but there was no one around to help with luggage and because there were so many people waiting for it placing luggage into the compartment became a free for all with the driver standing there watching it all.
I doubt I will stay here again. I've learned my lesson and have already booked my room at the Hilton Rome Airport for my trip this coming October.

Room Tip: Book early at the other Rome Airport Hilton it's much more convenient and is all around better.

Friendly staff, very clean and nice restaurant. I did have a problem at check-in but the management did everything they could to rectify the problem. I would stay there again when using the airport. The only drawback was the shuttle from the airport to the hotel was a little inconvenient.

This is a very nice hotel with an easy connection to the airport. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and feels like it is brand new. It is also very quiet and we had a good night's sleep before flying back to the United States. If you follow the simple instructions on the hotel's website, you should have no problem finding the shuttle. The staff is friendly as well. Also, the restaurant is good.

I regularly use this hotel - on average 5/6 times a year - and find it convenient whenever I have to catch an early morning flight from Rome Fiumicino airport.
Personnel at the reception are always very busy, so do not expect lots of smiles, but they're professional. The shuttle bus connecting to the airport Terminal 3 runs every thirty minutes and saves you 15-20€ for a taxi, although the pick up point at the airport is very far from the terminal and difficult to locate. The hotel is located close to the cargo area and secluded from other areas.
Rooms are nice though basic, and beds VERY comfortable. Buffet breakfast is super and also the restaurant provided good Italian fare. Overall a very good price to quality ratio.
