Unbelievable - I just received a response from Andrea Carnevale General Manager to a Hilton online survey that is not acceptable.

I stayed at the Hilton 4/28/13. I had the same experience as Bodiplmr who posted on 4/28/13. The room was musty, dank needed a dehumidifier. It was like sleeping in New Orleans in August with no a/c - laying in a pool of sweat. However it was a nice refreshing cool day/evening outside.The laminate floor was sticky with crumbs etc. The hotel is reminiscent of an old folks home.

The gym is only open from 7am-10pm. The gen. manager's response is "Our fitness center is independently run and managed by an external company. However, operating hours are in compliance with Hilton standards."

The pool was not open. After reading posts apparently it needed cleaning. It too is external company.

Come on this is an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Do a quick survey! Most airport Hiltons have 24 hr workout facilities.

Unlike others I found the signage to be adequate. Do note that there is no direct link to terminal 5.

I was willing to pay for::
1) convenience - not if you are flying out of terminal 5. I beat the Hilton shuttle that one gal was waiting for by walking to terminal 3 and taking the airport shuttle. Her anxiety, while waiting for a shuttle to catching her plane, was all over her face.
2) a heated indoor pool - seems closed much of time if you read through posts
3) a workout facility before a long flight - hope your flight is not before noon.

If you want to go to into Rome the train is right there express €14 - regional - €8.

The check in was adequate. I was warned of the automatic charging mini bar (charged every time it is opened) and asked to keep my credit card open. No need as I needed to workout and sleep.

Normally the facility is what it is and the staff is off the charts great. This hotel facility fails as does some of the staff.

I am posting because of the manager's response and to allow travelers to make their own informed decision.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not near the train. Some rooms were right next to them.

I am very sorry to learn that your accommodation was not up to your expectations and I apologize for the issue with the air conditioning and for the inconvenience this might have caused. I have already shared your comments with the Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager to make sure that corrective actions are taken.
As to the Fitness center, although compliant with Hilton standards, I totally understand your point regarding the opening hours and we will surely keep it into consideration in our attempt to continue improving our guests’ experience.

Excellent accommodations walked to early morning flight! Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Lobby was neat and well kept. Staff was friendly and courteous. CheckIn and CheckOut was quick and efficient.

Chose this hotel due to an early morning flight the next morning and based on recommendations of other s who have stayed there. Arrived late and everything went very well. Staff and facilities were first rate.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Rome Airport Hotel for one night before our flight the next day to BKK. Rooms are very clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was great with wide a choice. The biggest plus of this hotel is the free shuttle bus to the Rome centre) which is scheduled every 2 hours.
We would recommend a stay here to anyone and will be back again.

The Rome Airport Hilton is not a pleasure destination, but is a very convenient and easy place to stay in connection with a flight into or out of Rome. As others have pointed out, it is connected to the airport by a series of covered walkways -- it's about a 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2 or 3. (Terminal 5, where most international flights depart, is reached by a free shuttle from Terminal 3; when departing, the hotel has its own free shuttle to Terminal 5.) Thus, one avoids taxi or shuttle fares to and from the hotel from the airport.

While convenient in that sense, it is isolated from anything else. It has its own restaurant but there are no other restaurants nearby other than in Terminal 3 (which provides the choice of a cafe, a cafeteria and a McDonalds). On the other hand, it has a free shuttle bus (a full-size, 51-seat coach) to the Theatre of Marcellus. The bus leaves the hotel on each even-numbered hour to 22:00 and returns on each odd-numbered hour to 23:00; depending on traffic the journey takes about 40-50 minutes. That provides a very convenient, and pleasant, way to go into the heart of Rome for dinner or sightseeing. Wi-fi is expensive in the rooms but free in the lobby and public areas (it's a business/conference hotel, so there are extensive public areas). The rooms are plain but comfortable and fully equipped; tea and coffee service are provided at no extra cost. The hotel is quiet and we found the staff to be quite pleasant and very helpful.

In short, this hotel is not the place where one would stay to spend a Roman holiday, but in connection with an overnight stay near the airport it is an excellent property. This is what an airport hotel should be and more.

Pros - clean, comfortable, friendly service and easy to make flights
Cons - a little isolated at night, slightly noisy air-con, somewhat dated rooms

The hotel is further away from the train station compared to Hiltons in other cities and airports. It's on the other end of the carpark, which is very quiet late at night. - and slightly unnerving for a solo tourist.

However, the Hilton itself was warm and friendly with excellent service. I was upgraded to the executive floor and appreciated the kind gesture given I could grab a quick breakfast the next day. The room itself was a little dated with slight noisy air conditioning but was clean with a comfortable bed. Check-in and check-out were very efficient.

Overall, I'd suggest this as a clean, comfortable and friendly hotel for those worried about making their flights

This place was super, above and beyond what I expected for an airport hotel. Clean, spacious room. Free wifi in the lobby. Ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and was amazed to have gluten free pasta and bread basket!!! Much better than in the USA, Bravo Italy! Their breakfast buffet in the morning was unbelievable. Best during our trip of two weeks throughout Italy. Every option you could possible think of. Perfect for using airport also. Free shuttle service right to the terminal.
