“Indifferent Customer Service”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

This hotel is in a very good location relative to Fiumicino Airport. The hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel was right on time. I suspect that the shuttle only runs at the listed times on the transportation section of the hotel web site, so be prepared if you arrive at other times. The cost of a taxi should not be exhorbitant, especially with two or more passengers, in comparison to the 6 Euro shuttle charge. Plenty of great sea food and pizza places walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is clean and modern. The biggest negative was the totally indifferent front desk customer service in the late afternoon and evening. No real greeting upon check in and he was so busy playing with his computer that my impression was that he definately did not want to be bothered with questions like "where might be a good place to eat?" Would I stay at the Hotel Tiber again? Probably. Although their customer service is not the best, especially in the afternoon and evening. Morning front desk staff was better. The breakfast buffet was adequate but not any better than a breakfast at a chain medium priced hotel in the US. The one staff member was also pretty indifferent toward the people eating breakfast. The hotel had no ironing boards in the room and no ironing boards/irons available at the hotel. I guess they don't cater to business people.or people who might want to iron the wrinkles out of some travel clothes!

We live in Florence and normally would just train down early in the a.m. before a flight, but with a baby we need to keep things a little less hectic these days. We stayed at this hotel the night before our flight and found it a great choice. Everything was new, modern and clean. Just what you need for a short stay before an international flight. Very close to the airport.

I had 30-hours in Fiumicino and stayed at the Hotel Tiber, which was a good choice. Very quiet, peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Good seafood restaurants, nice shops to browse in, and right next to the Med. The hotel is very modern, clean and efficient. Pretty good breakfast buffet. One day in the area is enough to see everything. The hotel airport shuttle and the driver were great.

Rooms are spacious, the view on the canal and the sea is great from the rooms and from the breakfast room.
The staff is very nice and efficient.
There are two restauants in the hotel. We've tried one (sea food) which was very good: Modern settings, refined dishes, good price/quality ratio.

I stayed at this hotel for one night prior taking a plane at Rome airport.
It is a new hotel 5 minutes distance from FCO airport. It is brand new, clean and very cheap. It has in the morning a shuttle service to the airport that must be booked in advance.
Also restaurant is quite good.
Definitely a good and economical solution compareted to the Hiltons in the airport premises.

Stayed for 2nights in June 2012 ,
I loved every moment of it. Hotel Tiber is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! Was heaven! Staff take such pride of the hotel. Our room over looked the harbour which was so peaceful looking.
Arrived at the hotel around 7pm and wanted to explore straight away so we went for a stroll left out of the hotel and came across a lovely pizza place , pizza was yummy and had a few bottles of local beer . Perfect first night!
We took the hotel shuttle the next day into Rome, didnt enjoy that journey as driver was mad! He dropped us off by the collesum and we arranged pick up for 11pm that evening(I was slightly nervous that they may forget to pick us up but they were bang on time!!)
For those who have never been to rome I must say it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world ! The weather was amazing! Was red hot in June so go prepared ! We have young children but decided to do rome alone as it was far too hot and too much walking for little ones! (good job nanny was on hand ) we paid to go on a tour bus which I highly recommend, (barter your prices tho as company's are very competitive ) we saw all the landmarks :) cannot express what a beautiful city rome is ! Had lunch in the hard rock cafe which was fab value ! Just be careful in the small cafes as we had 2 tiny ice creams , 1 coke and 1bottled water and it cost us the best part ov £17.00, otherwise all is perfect.
On our last day we were so lucky enough to have the hotel pool to ourselves! Was gorgeous up on the roof! A sun trap so make sure you apply lotion and not end up like a lobster like my other half ;)
Breakfast was lovely too, plenty on offer , bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, cereals, fresh fruit , muffins etc!
Overall loved this place , would recommend to all!

Stayed for 1 night and it was great. Check in a breeze, rooms were ready by 10 am. They also arranged for transportation to the airport at 4am. The on site rest was great! Walk around the quay is very authentic, non touristy. Shuttle services is inconvenient compared to US style airport hotel service.
