i visited here in may with my girlfriend, i found the apartments very clean and tidy had everything we needed, the staff were friendly and helpful, we didnt use the swimming pool once we just stayed down the beach which we found the water and the beach itself a very clean area and very relaxing, we ate out every night and didnt have one bad meal the food was excellent, i cant remember the name but its as to your right as you get to the beach and is blue and white coloured, the food was excellent and the staff great, we also visited the town next door and found a lot of shops there, we walked it there and taxi back, excellent place and accomodation

On arrival greeted by Kosta and Maria (nice people) Maria took surname and give key to Kosta who showed us to our room. The room was good with kettle, fridge, hairdryer. television and two ring 'cooker' - I can only say that most of the Greek Islands we have stayed the ' cooker' is the norm - it did not bother us as we ate out. the bathroom was big enough but the shower head had to be balanced when showering. The locks on the doors opening to the balcony are excellent
The bed was quite noisy but we soon sorted this out as the slats had moved underneath. (At least it wasn't concrete as we have had in Kalymnos - I do mean concrete!) The bedding and towels were changed every Monday and Thursday so in our stay they were changed 4 times and were spotless the cleaners are in everyday except Saturday. Safety deposit boxes are 10 Euros per week (that is cheap in June we paid more in Crete) and are opened with two keys one with Kosta and one you keep in a locked room which Kosta opens when anything is wanted from your box
I dont think the family are miserable they are quite nice, try to speak with them a little Greek Kali Mara etc and they appreciate the effort they were always around if you needed anything
The rep was Kerri who was very good at her job and she was always there when she should have been to answer any questions and queries
We never hire a car but walk or take local buses, we walked to see the turtles as 'recommended' by Kerri , Hanioti, Pefkohora, Kiri Pigi and Kassindrino ( 2 hours) small local village with 2 tavernas, 1 shop and church and a local meeting place
Polichrono was near the end of season and the first week we noticed bars closing and second week shops as well.
The road to the centre can be quite busy when walking down the street on the right hand corner is the the Lemony bakery opens each morning at 6am turn right at the bakery this is the road to Hanioti (approx 1 hr 10 mins) and if feeling fit another half hour takes your to Pefkohori ( I prefer Pefkohori to Polichrono)
Georges restaurant was the one we preferred his mother did the cooking and we also tried Cockney Cafe 7E for a small meal and 10E for a large and Capitans and Tulips (not that keen on this one) and Flegras again not keen
We have been twice now to Halkidiki and would not go again for another few years

Premises were clean and spacious (rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily), staff were friendly and polite, excellent value for money, only drawbacks were Towels and Bed Linen were only changed once during our weeks stay which is quite frankly, unacceptable and unhygienic to say the least. Self catering facilities in the room were non existent with only 2 electric rings and no oven/ grill. On the upside equipped with both a fridge and a kettle and we ate out rather than eating within apartment, this wasn't a problem as a wide variety of eateries are available at extremely reasonable prices, I'd particularly recommend "The Cockney Cafe" for great wholesome food in great sized, reasonably priced portions, friendly staff (Tico The Waiter) . We would return but would like to see the apartments better serviced by Towels/ Bed Linen changed more often, after all this is a basic requirement!! We would also like to see self catering facilities improved drastically

Our apartments was clean & quite spacious. My only niggle would be that the towels in the bathroom weren't changed often enough. The staff were curteous & polite, but they were no where near as friendly or approachable as staff I've encountered at other Greek hotels/apartments. The pool was ok, but there were too many sunbeds crammed around it!
As for the resort of Polychrono, it is too "British" for my liking. I adore Greek food, but all the tavernas in Polychrono are catering for the English - even going as far as bringing ketchup with your meal rather than olive oil!!! The beach is very narrow, but would be lovely if some effort was put into removing the thousands of cigarette butts off it! The sea, however, more than makes up for beach - it's crystal clear.
Overall, I'm glad I've visited this particular Greek peninsula, but I wouldn't go back.

i went to this hotel in July and was shocked i what we saw, i didnt have high hopes for the hotel but it was lovely clean, neat and modern. Thompson should really update the pictures because it has had a complete make over. our room were lovely, the best i have stayed in in greece for the price!!. the maid serivce was great she was round everyday.. and brought us new loo rolls everyday i usally have to buy them as never get them. we had water all ready in the fridge ready. FREE AIR CON!! which was a bouns. The pool area can be quite busy and when we was there seemed to be covered in wasps all the time, so we tended to go to the beach and finish up at the pool later on in the day.. The prices at the pool bar are not expensive but could do with some more snacks on menu...
The family who run the place are lovely and are not at all grumpy.. they do put on e a weekly BBQ but we had heard many bad reviews on this so we avoided this and later asked other people who went and was happy that we avoided it..
Polichrono is a beautiful place, we often went for breakfast down at the beach front which was always cheap anbd lovely,,
most of the meals we had were very very good!! the traditional greek resturant was beautiful and what we thought would be the most expensive ended up the cheapest we got a free pan cake too.. the only place that let us down which i can not remember the name of but was down one of the side streets which said they had the best pizza was sadly awful and the most expensive. everything seemed to be covered in salt me and my partner couldnt eat either of our pizza's and even the greek salad was awful..
the bar laska was our fav place to go as we went in there most nights the atmophere is great and everyone is very friendly, they even save you sunbeds at the beach for the next days you just have to buy one drink..
overall it was a great holiday and would go back there tomorrow

The apartments are the best I've stayed in in Greece - clean, well decorated and beds that don't break your back. The pool area is a little small for the number of guests - be up by 9am to get a spot by the pool. Don't expect to be able to take in an airbed or inflatable, as these are forbidden by the owner, who has a reputation of being slightly grumpy.

Bar food is not the great, and the weekly BBQ is best avoided - though Kostas will apply pressure for you to attend. Much better value to make your own lunch, or nip out to one of the fast food shops. The bakery is excellent for bread, cakes and ice-creams.

The complex is on the edge of town in a residential block. It's 300m downhill to the beach and main eateries. The beach is a bit of a let down. Only 3 sunbeds deep in most areas and packed from 9-9. Sunbeds are "free" with the purchase of a €3 drink, but better value than most resorts. The beach is coarse sand, which gives way to pebbles in the sea. It's not very clean - many people use it as an ashtray.

The beachfront is lined with restaurants and bars along a promenade, with the beach a 1m drop off the promenade. A little British, but a shock if you're expecting a gently shelving beach leading away from a few spaced out buildings, as you would find on many Greek islands.

Most of the visitors are Greek or Eastern European - not many Brits to be seen, which may appeal!

Not a bad holiday - I just wish we could take the apartments somewhere else in Greece, with fewer people and a better beach.

Even though we were first week of the school holidays the Kostas never seemed overly busy. We always managed to find sunbeds or a place at the bar when we wanted to. We did spend a lot of time at the beach as it was so easy to get there, across the road and 5 mins down a paved path - with a stop for a huge one euro fresh ice cream cone at the icecream shop Elite on the way - bargain ! Sea was warm and calm and easy for swimming as long as you don't mind swimming out of depth as gets very deep very quickly.
Quite liked the option of sunbeds on the beach for the price of a drink - Nefelli had nice comfy beds but inflated the first drink price ( 8 euros for 2 cokes) but would discount the second - or planet ( which was 3 euros per coke) take your pick. If you want food too Alex's had good selection of lunch food - club sarnes/omlettes etc.
We did try to walk to Hanioti along the beach but couldn't find the path and walking 7 km along the sand proved too much, Rep said there was a path but we couldn't find it. We did however manage the walk up the hill ( mountain according to the M-I-L) to see the turtles which was a nice varitation on the days, and got bar to order a taxi (9euro) for some shopping time in Hanioti for the teenager which got her away from the TV and airconditioning - she found a good selection on american tv shows to amuse herself - favourite was Baywatch! When she needed an internet fix Hotel Fanis was the favourite free internet bar,as you could sit in the gardens overlooking the seafront with a coke and hook up to the web on her PSP..
Followed recommendation on TA and booked 2 superior studios for the 4 of us - lovely bright clean and loads of space, holding the shower head was unusual but manageable. Maid was fab and kept everything pristine. Well worth it .
Used lots of the restaurants but went back to Kleathis and Georges most of all. Georges was very trad taverna and cheaper than many, and Kleathis overlooked the seafront for great people watching with lovely food , grandmas pasta was a favourite.
Overall, a great relaxing week, and break from real life !
