“Family reunion in a woodland setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2014

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel close to Brussels on festive occasions. I had to organize a family reunion which included good access and accommodation for elderly and handicapped members. Dolce Hotel and Spa center in La Hulpe caters extremely well to young and old. We have always been very well looked after by a friendly and welcoming staff even though the hotel often has large groups and seminar events.
There is a feeling of infinite space in gracious, solidly-built and efficient surroundings. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and well sound-proofed, with attractive views on the Forêt de Soignes. Château Solvay is close by.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a view on the forest.

A very fine structure with a lot of spaces for every type of activity and excellent rooms and services. Very near to Bruxelles, but in a very beautyful countyside, where is possibile to run and walk. Excellent breakfast and lunch

I have read a lot of the preceeding reviews and can see where some feel 'cheated'. I am staying here for a conference and do not need to pay anything myself, other than the odd drink at the bar - which is expensive. Surely you know that this place is out in the sticks when you book? That would be one of the attractions? Staff are friendly, helpful and willing. Maybe not all speak excellent english but how many staff in 'english' speaking countries actually speak another european language? Food, and choice, at breakfast, lunch and dinner is very good. There may have been one or two dishes we don't like but that is down to personal taste, and unavoidable if you are residential somewhere for 4.5 days. Facilities for conferences is very good. I have been on residentials at quite a few places in the UK and well as Belgium and Netherlands and this place is good. I don't think I would come here as a holiday maker, and am surprised at the number of people who parade themselves in their robes, walking through business groups in the lobby.

Room Tip: I was allocated an executive room which is brilliant, but must be pricey. Have encountered the glass...

This hotel is in a rural setting, which seems nice at first but means there is nothing nearby. I tried to eat dinner and was told that the restraint is full ( despite having many seats), so if I wanted to eat dinner would need to go elsewhere. Do not stay here.

Dear nd9,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

We’re very sorry to hear that you did not leave our hotel with an overall positive perception.

We do encourage our guests, at the time of reservation, to book their table at one of our restaurants in order to avoid a possible unavailability.

We hope that you might come back and give us another chance in the near future.

Apparently this location was previously an IBM training facility, now a hotel, conference center and the Deloitte University.

All the rooms are on the ground floor, bedrooms have a floor to ceiling window overlooking the woodland which was very pleasant.
The hotel room was nicely decorated in a modern European style and the bathroom is also well designed.
The hotel corridors are vast and seem to go on forever, which left me thinking that I could possibly be in a modern hospital complex.
The service is friendly enough, however professional and on the cold side. This is not a boutique hotel and is remotely located outside Brussels in a woodland. If you are looking for evening entertainment rather than sitting in your hotel room watching television or surfing on the internet, the bar in the reception area is not particularly appealing nor is the restaurant, reminded me a bit like having lunch at IKEA. You could however go to the pool and sauna area which is very pleasant.

This is a business hotel and I was glad I was not paying for my stay at the hotel out of my own pocket. I would never recommend this hotel for anyone other than for business travelers. Perfect for those large corporate meetings, which after all is what this training center was designed to cater for.

Was there on a business trip attending a seminar. Service is good, business rooms are ok. However, hotel room was quite out of vogue and two small beds instead of a big one. I didn't pay myself (company did) but prices seemed very expensiv for the quality you get. Hotelbar without any style, 7 Euros for a beer, 17 for a Gin Tonic. Food was poor quality, only breakfast was ok.

Great environment, personnel was really friendly. We stayed at this hotel to relax, and we accomplished that! Great walking routs for in the woods. The Spa and Hammam were only not what we expected from it.
