i'll start by saying that if I could give this place 6 or more stars, I would! The hostal is clean, modern and very comfortable. Our double room cost 25 dollars, and was far nicer than anywhere else we have stayed on the trip so far. There are two fully-equipped kitchens, a few eating areas, hammocks and a nice pool. The owner, Carlos, was so helpful throughout our stay.
A highlight of our trip!

Room Tip: We stayed in room one, but all the rooms were clean and well kept, including the dorms.

Not much to add to the other reviews. This place was great. Carlos and his friends(if they stop by) will make you right at home. The place is spotless. The rooftop terrace is terrific. A true haven in Santa Ana and a good base to explore western El Salvador.

This place is absolutely amazing. It proofs that there can actually be nice and clean places in Central America.
Dorms 10$
Private rooms with bath $25
Free coffee, free wifi, pool, massage tools, terrace, common areas and two amazing kitchens that are better equipped than anything else I have seen.
Carlos has set a new standard.

We stayed at Casa Verde for 4 nights and really liked the place. Carlos the owner made sure everything was comfortable for us, eg he set up a DVD player by the pool for us, and helped us book accommodation at our onward destination. The facilities are great, with the best equipped communal kitchen I have ever seen in a hostel (even had a juicer machine!), excellent DVD selection in the cinema room. Good free coffee available all day and hammocks/ loungers to chill out in. Good location - 20 mins walking distance to the main sights. Recommend!

Well nothing new to add. The place is still excellent in every aspect. After staying there for 10 days I felt I had to move on and see the rest of El Salvador - it was just sooo comfortable.

Carlos, who runs and owns the place, is really service minded and eager to help out with any question you might have.

Lots of thought has gone into every detial of this Hostel. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and is very spacious and clean. There is free water, honnesty system for beer, kitchen, fast wifi, pool and a very genuinely freindly host, Carlos. We had the room right next to the 'comon area' which meant we heard people up and about in the morning (not so good for us as we were feeling a bit delicate after a big night out at the Football....)

When I checked out after four days, I said to my girlfriend "Let's start a hostel back at home." Carlos makes it look easy and it's probably because, as others have said, he's thought of everything. The place is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the vibe is positive and fun. This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in, hands down, and Carlos is the reason. One night he gave us the key to another room in a far corner of the hostel because there was a group hanging out just outside our door and we were planning to leave early the next morning. They ended up going to bed before we did, but it was thoughtful of him, and he always was doing little things to make us more comfortable. He just has a perfect personality for hospitality. He also gave us the vibe on local activities such as Lago Coatepeque (a bust, verified in person) and Volcan Santa Ana (worth it, also verified). The City itself wasn't too impressive, but I would go back there just to relax at Casa Verde for a few days.
