“A divine stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

Whata a paradise! Situated on a quiet little side road (less than a five minute walk from our hotel rooms to the soft sand of the magnificant beach, with about two of the 4.5 minutes spent on a lovely shaded tropical pathway through the jungle), this jewel of a hotel is a "must stay". The rooms are all wondderful (each with a unique paiting on the wall of a local scene done by a local artist), spacious, comfortable and clean. The grounds are magnificant--dense, jungle flowers neautifully maintained. The pool is very welcoming and large. The "24x7" coffee available at the pool side (as well aas a 'honor" bar) are lovely addiitons. The service is impeccable.

The food is amazing. Wonderful Italian cuisine--at very reasonable prices. The pizza is spectacular--but so was every dish we had.

If this were not enough, a tree at the end of the driveway served as the temproary "house" to a family of monkeys are first day there--about15 in all, including the 3 or 4 mother-infant pairs. (apparently this is a frequent resting place for the monkeys.)

Treat yourselves! The prices are very very reasonable and competitive.

Room Tip: Each room seems to be different--at least from the three that we saw. Some have larger balconies, so...

A friend and I stayed at Giardino Tropical for two nights while being on a road trip around Costa Rica. We picked it based upon price and reviews, and we were not disappointed. The hotel compunds are indeed a tropical garden. The pool is beautiful and there is free coffee all day for the guests.

The standard room looked so good to us, that we did not even bother looking at the deluxe room. Air-conditioning is optional in the room and comes with an extra 15$ per night. I liked the A/C, but for other travellers the ceiling fan might be just as acceptable. Our room had two comfortable separate beds, bathroom was spaceous and clean with good water-pressure in the shower. Only downside is the "no paper in the toilet, but in the bin"-policy. There was also an outside patio area next to our room with a hammock and two rocking chairs.

Breakfast looked good but it was kinda pricey, so we explored other options nearby like Bagelmen's. There is an italian restaurant on the premises. Also kinda pricey but very good. My friend and I had a wonderful time at Giardino Tropicale. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful three 3-night stay at Giardino Tropicale. It is very close to Giones Beach but tucked into the jungle away from noise and business. Myriam, the owner, is very friendly and gave us several wonderful recommendations for things to see in the Nosara area. If we return to Nosara, we will most definitely return to Giardino Tropicale. The pool is beautiful, the rooms are simple and comfortable. We love all the outdoor seating and the outdoor kitchen on the side of our room. We did a lot of cooking! Giardino Tropicale is comfortable and clean but not outrageously expensive. It is a very go place for the price. It made our time in Nosara quite enjoyable!

Room Tip: The rooms in the 2-story building near the pool are the nicest. Especially the two on the second flo...

My wife, mother and I just returned from a wonderful week at the hotel. We loved the big pool and luscious tropical gardens. The owners Myriam(Columbian) and her husband Marcel(Swiss) were great fun to talk with and very helpful. Marcel had been the head of the Nosara Chamber of Commerce or something like that for ten years and knew everything about everything having to do with the town. Myriam organized to have a young Tica lady named Yeti come to hotel and give excellent and very reasonably priced massages. The three employees on staff were very competent, excellent breakfast cooks and very patient with my gringo Spanish. They and the owners gave of the impression of being a big happy caring family.
We took about half our evening meals at the onsite Italian restaurant which was very good. It was operated by an Italian couple from Verona named Max and Laura. The pizza was just like what we had gotten in Italy a few years ago. The homemade pasta was also very good. We had the rest of our dinners at the Pacifica Azul (about a 5 minute walk). You would be really missing out if you were to come to Nosara and not give that place a try. It was also a good spot for an afternoon beer and a chance meet the locals and local expats.
The next time we come to Nosara we'll definitely stay at the Giardino Tropicale again.

I enjoyed my stay in this clean, friendly, very reasonably priced hotel and restaurant. The grounds were well groomed and well kept. Hammocks are readily available to lounge around in for a nap. The grounds, when not site seeing or surfing, has a overall comfortable environment. Very close to everything around. Absolutely delicious meals. Will definitely stay here again.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

We were a 3-generational family of six and stayed here for two nights in June, in two rooms. I want to call it cabins or duplex, that'd be more appropriate than room. Each end had it's own porch with chairs, table and hammock. The grounds are beautiful -- the hosts gracious and accommodating, the pool wonderful, the location perfect, the food yummy -- especially the bread from Marcel's bakery in San Jose.
It's a very friendly place -- Marcel is very laid back. Fresh flowers from the garden were in our rooms. We gladly paid for the extra AC. Marcel continued to work for us to arrange transportation to Ostional so that we could see turtles laying eggs on the beach. We didn't understand why it too so much effort to arrange until we saw the road that had to be traveled.
The beach is a very short walk away -- the town of Nosara Beach is also a quick walk through woods. We all voted this as our favorite place of all the five hotels on our visit to Costa Rica.
