“Great destination”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Loved this beach. No frills, just the sand and surf. There are no amenities, if you need beach accessories you either bring them or rent them from one of the local businesses. Coconut Harry's has a spot near Beach Dog Cafe where you can rent beach umbrellas. No beachside bars, just some local vendors at the main entrance of the beach. Great surfing and friendly locals.

“Beautiful beach”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

No development, beautiful people surfing and clear water = perfect beach! Make sure you take water and plenty of sunscreen though as there's no shade and don't leave valuables lying around. Oh and beware the manta rays in the shallows!

“Beautiful Beach!”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

Great white sandy beach, warm water, beautiful waves, lots of shells to collect. My family of 4 kids (ages 13, 12, 9, and 7) loved the beach. Not a lot of shade so I would recommend bringing an umbrella or coming before noon to avoid the strong mid to late afternoon sun. We also wandered up to Playa Pelada, which is beautiful and full of tide pools and more Ticos. Neither beach was full of people and we visited during Easter weekend. The water was warm and the kids enjoyed playing and swimming.

“Paradise Rentals & Fishing Nosara”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

We had a once in a lifetime trip to Casa Jardin and fishing in Nosara! The fishing excursions were fabulous with Capt. David & Kevin on the "barroom brawler" Explorer (10 sails total for Chuck) and Capt. Carlos on the "pocket knife" Adventurer. I caught 3 sails on the Explorer and five bonitas and one tuna on the Adventurer. What a special treat to see the beautiful reefs jut out of the Blue Pacific (which I had never seen before). We also took a horseback ride with Rafael and had lunch with Jesus, his Mama, at her home way back in the mountains. She prepared a delicious native lunch, and it was a pleasure meeting them both. Also, Cumi, Marino, Javier and Ididas took great care of us! I would be remiss without saying how much we adored Freddie and Jenny, too. Freddie hauled us to and from the boats to Garza, Jenny did our laundry and cleaned up Casa Jardin during the week, and Jenny had some really delicious fried chicken as a treat on one of our fishing trips. Everyone was very amenable to answering any questions we had. We put several miles on the Safari Cart, and our transfers to and from the San Jose airport were impeccable. One big happy family! I spent one whole morning following a howler monkey family who had just had 3 babies (right up above our house). The scenery and laid-back attitude of the people helped with our much-needed rest.

It was an amazing adventure which we will always cherish. These folks run a top-notch operation, and we recommend Paradise Rentals & Fishing Nosara to anyone who is headed to Costa Rica. When they say ice-cold air conditioners and CLEAN, they mean it... Our best vacation ever, and we hope to go back one day.

“Consistent Waves”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

Playa Guiones is like a wave machine, cranking out consistent small but very surfable waves 24/7. The surfing is fantastic and is really the only reason to come. The town isn't much and is extremely expensive. If you surf, this is a must check it out. If you don't surf, you can find better, prettier and less crowded beaches nearby with far more affordable food and lodging.
